Hi everyone, Just wanted to share my jubilance with you all :-) I am the very proud Aunty of a nephew Max Thomas who made a dramatic (surprise, surprise) entrance into this world at 3:09 this morning. My sister lost a lot of blood and it resulted in an emergency ceasarian, but we are all so buoyed that he is here that we can almost forgot the ordeal it took!!!!! I keep crying (yay finally those tears of joy we have all yearned for!) everytime I look at his photo. My sister is exhausted but well considering and such a happy proud Mum. She is the mother hen of the family and will be the best mum ever :-) Thomas is a special name in our family. A special adopted Grandfather we had was Grandad Tommy, plus my biological grandfather and ofcourse T my hubby is a Thomas. All three have been affected by cancer and my sister wanted to honour all of them and their strength courage and determination by naming porky after them. (porky was 9lb3oz, my sis is 5ft1!) Oh here go the tears again. haha. These ones are so very welcome. Thank you little Max for reminding Aunty Larn of the joy of life again. You special little man.. :-) 🙂 🙂

Congratulations Larn. I am new to this site but have been reading posts for the last couple of months. It is so good to have a welcome blessing as we are going through these tough times. My partners son and wife are having a baby in late February and this will be our first grandchild so we are hoping to be able to go visit them in Adelaide. We are from south of Perth. My daughter also gets married in Oct and is is always good to be able to look forward to something. I am going with her to Perth tomorrow to a Bridal Show to pick out her wedding dress. Should be a good girly day for us (for some unknown reason my partner doesn't want to join us.Ha Ha.) Regards Gail

Willow the surprise was a little sarcastic humor as there always seems to be drama surrounding this family lol. Max was actually a week overdue with no intentions at all in leaving his lovely secure home for past 40 weeks!!! Gail, my sister is also in Adelaide. Thanks everyone for the congratulations 🙂 I cry over every new photo I am sent lol And this from the girl nicknamed The Rock hehe. Take care xx

Congratulations on the arrival of your nephew. Our eldest daughter gave birth to triplet boys in October. They were 8 weeks prem, but they are all thriving now. Biggest triplet was 3lb 13oz when born, but now is well over 10lb. Smallest was 2lb 8oz, but now around 8lb. I looked after 2 of them the other morning while our daughter went out (she had bought something on ebay and had to go and pick it up), it was raining so she just took the smallest as he is difficult to feed (he has a cleft palate). The boys are smiling now, and what a pleasure it is, to see your grandchildren smiling at you for the first time. Our youngest daughter is getting married in May, so that is another exciting event to look forward to. Our daughter lives in Queensland so we are not that involved with her wedding planning. Bev

Thanks Jill, I am aiming to go down to SA early March. It will be a happy and sad trip as it will also be my best friends birthday who passed away a year ago tomorrow (I mentioned in previous post T was diagnosed on the same date). We are all going to have a beer down the creek where we used to play as kids and maybe build a tree swing if the old reliable tree we used is still going strong. His son still lives around the old neighbourhood so we want the swing for him. And of course i will be having LOADS of cuddles from Max. i cant wait for those!!!! How are you Jill? Hope there are lots of beautiful moments for you and your family. i always think about how you are. Take care Alana

Hi Alana, Early March shouldn't take too long to get here....with all that goes on in our lives! I really hope the old tree is very strong and reliable, a tree swing for your friend's son sounds like a wonderful gift that you can give to him. The beer down by the creek sounds pretty good too! I am glad that you will have the sad/painful memories 'somewhat offset' (not meant to sound trivial but apologies if it comes across that way) with the happy/special cuddles from Max. Have noticed the profile update mentioning that T is anxious about the groin swelling. Has he been to the Dr? any idea what it may be yet? Just what you don't need right now, more stress. I truly hope it is an 'innocent' and isolated incident. News on me, have just done a new blog entry, "It's 2am and awake again", so I'll let you read that for an update. Good luck, maybe make a cup of tea first, it's a bit lengthy!! Take care, Jill.

Hi Jill, It will be a good balance of happy/sad with Maxs cuddles thrown in, and although I miss Paul like mad, there are also sooooooo many good memories to keep us all giggling for a while :-) T's left leg often fills with fluid when he sits for long periods, and being a loader operator that is what he is doing all day so I feel that is all the groin swelling is. He has a scan in Feb which we will just move forward to give him that peace of mind he most definately needs. Things started with a haernia so it is too similar for him to feel relaxed about it until he has proof its nothhing sinister. I have my cuppa ready and am about to read your new blog. Talk (cyber talk lol) soon Alana xxx

Aunty Larn - sound good?? I bet it does. Congratulations and enjoy watching your little nephew grow . I have an adorable little nephew and niece - they make life so much happier. Not having kids of my own , when my sister went back to work she asked me to look after them - definitely the best job I have ever had, even though I didn't regard it as a job. They are just the sweetest, kindest, polite, considerate little 8 and 6 year olds ever and they are so respectful (when they remember! of my illness).Playing with them, talking with them just being with them makes me forget about me - they are a blessing- so Larn- ENJOY.
