Dear Mr Cancer, I am writing this letter to express my regret and overwhelming sorrow at what you have done to my family. Since you have entered our lives, it has thrown our world into chaos. Do you have any idea what you have taken from us? Do you? We have big dreams, my husband was going to build his dream studio, but you came and caused him so much pain it tears me up inside to see what you are doing to him. And our children... I hate you for what you have made them see and how you are taking their Dad's life away a bit every day. But do you know what? You are not going to win and you have also given us this... Time to spend together just talking and remembering how much we love each other I am a better person and finding strength I never knew existed I am more patient and my life has been given new perspective So, don't even think about taking pleasure because you have won... you haven't. I will continue to write to you and remind you of this everyday if I have to... because ultimately you will not win that is fact!!! Please don't reply because I don't ever want to see your ugly face ever again...stay away from our family thanks. I will fight you to the end My strength and love for my family will win every time Yours regretfully A loving wife

Hi, Add my name to the list! It's fascinating how the change of perspective is the common thread for all of us. Good luck with your family and their journey. Samex

Hi wifeyb, What a fantastic thing to do- personalising Mr Cancer. At the gym I was going to they had a black punching bag with a head on it and I would imagine he was cancer and would pound on him with all the strenght I could muster. My partner was diagnosed in late August with Bowel cancer that had spread to the liver and is also now in lymph glands near his vertabrae and has fluid in the peritoneal cavity. We have been told to expect 2 years from diagnosis and this has thrown our world into chaos. He told me the other day he was sorry because he wanted to grow old with me and that he had found his best friend.I said that at least we had found each other (we have been together for 11 years).I agree that the only good thing to come out of this wretched disease is that you get to realise what and who are most important to you.You get the chance to tell those you love how you feel about them including your family and your friends.I do beleive we find a strength we never knew we had but are also so very frightened and only those who go through this can know how it is.Take care of yourself as you would of those around you. Thinking of you Gail

Hiya I agree it is great ... i often personalise cancer and do things that wont allow it to have power over my life as much as i can. Some people would think i am mad, but i am glad to learn i am not. haha Good on ya!! Julie
