Today was the first appt with the radiotherapist, tommorrow is the day of the simulator for the radiation and Friday is the day for the chemo oncologist. Why wasnt it until today when I was in the waiting room that it hit me right between the eyes "I have cancer".How can I offer support and best wishes to this community when I cant even cope with my own cancer. Thanks to all the wonderfully brave people out there I feel like I am not alone although I wish nobody had to go through this fight with this insidious disease.Hugs wishes and especially thankyou to all.X

Hey there! Sometimes it is nice to think that you don't have cancer..... And your brain sometimes likes to give you a break too! Good luck with your treatment and loads of hope coming your way! Who says you have to accept that you have cancer......... Just do what feels right! Take care! PA

Oh! Waiting rooms really bring it flooding into your personal space and the stark awful reality hits you very hard. Waiting rooms are also filled with 'CANCER' information so it's pretty darn hard to escape from it. Do whatever you can to fight it Tina, breath work and meditation calms my husband down in the waiting room,he goes to a cancer free place in his mind even though it's only for a little while. We try and have some cancer free thinking time during the day but it is not easy.. Sounds like you are going to be well looked after by your medical team and I hope with all my heart the treatment is successful. Gently gently does it. Dotty

You can say what is on your mind here .That can be trying to help others or asking for help from others. I hope your treatment goes well.

Yes the waiting rooms, foreboding places, with people trying their best to be positive, flicking through magazines wishing they were anywhere but right there. thinking to themselves, why me?, why us ?. But here we are with stark clarity, in the the waiting room, cramped, tiny, our thoughts drifting back to happier times in our lives. The drive to the hospital took 1 hour every 2 weeks for chemo, I used to think, why are we not driving to a picnic or something equally lovely in our retirement. Why are we diving to chemo, this cannot be real. You are giving support Tina, in your words, telling of the journey you are going through, your thoughts your fears, your hugs, spending the time here, letting people know, that whatever stage of the journey they are in, they are not alone in the travel. There are people like yourself that understand what they are going through, and are prepared to enter a cyber world to offer words of comfort. That is immense support.Thank you. wombat
