NIOVEMBER SPRING UP! GROUPS The METRO WEST GROUP. . This month "What is the Pancreas?" Bankstown Hospital 10.30am to 12 noon Please ring Jan on the Metro West SPRING UP! phone: 0411 270 175 We will move the Metro Group around Auburn, Bankstown, Casula, Penrith and Westmead from November to June 2009 so that we can reach out to as many people as possible. The ROSEVILLE GROUP on Thursday NOV 20 1.30-3.00pm Please join us at 7 Lord Street Roseville. We are a Group who are a mix of Carers, Family and patients both male and female and we welcome you to join us. The venue is pleasant, easy to travel to by car or train. Rain or sun on the day, there will be friendly people who can share together. OCTOBER SPRING UP! GROUPS Please note The AUBURN GROUP is changing to the METRO WEST GROUP. There will be no Auburn Meeting on October 9 as this Group is changing so that it moves around the Metro west region. We will move the Group around Auburn, Bankstown, Casula, Penrith and Westmead from November to June 2009 so that we can  reach out to as many people as possible. The Auburn Meeting will be held this month together with the ROSEVILLE GROUP on Thursday  OCT 16 1.30-3.00pm Please join us at 7 Lord Street Roseville. We are a Group who are a mix of Carers, Family and patients both male and female and we welcome you to join us. The venue is pleasant, easy to travel to by car or train. Announcing JUNE dates for SPRING UP! Community Support Groups for all affected by pancreatic cancer, carers and family:AUBURN Morning GroupJUNE 12  at Day Centre, St Joseph's Hospital, Normanby Rd AUBURN. (Follow SPRING UP! Signs).ROSEVILLE Afternoon GroupJUNE 19 at Uniting Church Hall, 7 Lord St Roseville.Both venues offer pleasant and comfortable surroundings with easy level access, parking and access to train.Contact Cancer Helpline 13 11 20 for information  or if you have transport problems.  Jan or Sarah, the Facilitators will call you.Feel free to drop in and meet others who understand the issues you face.These two groups have been started in response to calls from people affected by pancreatic cancer to have support services specific to their needs.We would love you to join us, let us know what information you are seeking and speak to others in friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Feedback: How could a community support group work for you? What difficulties do you face in getting to the Groups?How do these time suit you?What information sessions would you like presented?

Hello To All, July SPRING UP! Groups are on at: Auburn July 10 at 10.30am-12 MD Ring Jan on Mobile above Roseville July 17 at 1.30-3pm Ring Sarah as above. Come and join us. You may come alone or with a friend, family or carer. Carers and family you are welcome to come along yourselves. If transport is an option talk to either Jan or Sarah and we can help you.

SPRING UP! - Support Groups Program

Just wanted to let you all know about Spring Up. Spring Up is a Pancreatic Cancer Support Program for people affected by pancreatic cancer, their family and carers. 2 Groups are being launched in April: Metro west April 10 at Auburn and Metro north April 17 at Roseville. Both venues are pleasant enviroments with good access. Groups run for two sessions with tea/coffee break in the middle. The whole group lasts around one and half hours including tea/coffee break.Session 1 is Information provided by Health professionals and Session 2 is group support. People are welcome to come to one or both sessions. The 1st session will be "What is The Pancreas?GOALSSUPPORT: Practical and emotional support is helpful at all stages of treatment and care. Being part of a group provides opportunities to share information, experiences and feelings in a caring environment, where everyone is going through a similar experience.PARTNERSHIP: Partnering with health professionals we work together as a caring community, to support each other.RESPECT: We respect the individual views and differences of all people.INFORMATION: Provide accurate, up-to-date information relevant to pancreatic cancer and treatment through professional input.NURTURE: In an environment of trust and strictest confidence we nurture ourselves and each other.GROUP: The comfort and security of the group provides opportunity for creating awareness and recognition of one's choices.THE GROUP MEETS MONTHLY.FOR FURTHER INFORMATION AND REGISTRATION PLEASEPHONE:The Cancer Council Helpline: 13 11 20
