The Journey Has Ended

Hi all, I just want to say thank you to all those who have offered inspiration and support during Tony's journey down the rectal cancer road.  It has been greatly appreciated and he gained confidence from the successes of others. As I mentioned in a previous post, the surgery went extremely well and his recovery rate has been very pleasing to the surgical team.  Thursday lunch time he was moved from high dependency to a general ward. Unfortunately something happened - no one currently knows what - early on Anzac Day and the nursing staff on morning rounds found that he had passed away.  It was totally unexpected by us and the medical team. I guess these things just happen but it doesn't make it any less devastating. Christine
