Renal Cell Carcinoma in my lungs

Renal Cell Carcinoma in my lungs

I lost my left kidney to cancer about 8 years ago and somehow the sneaky cancer travelled through my lymph nodes into the lungs. I was told it is stage 4 and 6 to 8 months is all I have left.

I am fine with that. I have had chronic pain for over ten years. Both shoulders have torn rotator cuffs. An umbilical hernia keeps getting bigger and uglier. The bone spur in my left knee limits stairs.

The pain meds especially amytriptyline makes me unable to function.

I just want to move on the the next plane of existence.

As Marvin the Android said, "The first 10 million years were the worst, then the next ten million years, well they were even worse, after that I went into a bit of a decline.

Am I depressed or is it the meds?

Anyhow, I hate life a lot.

Just wondering if anyone else is willing to share their mess.

Re: Renal Cell Carcinoma in my lungs

Hi @Stevie

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It sounds like you are a very resilient person with everything you have managed over the years. What amazing strength and perseverance you must have.

It also sounds like it could be a good idea to speak to someone about how you are feeling. Your medical team or GP are a great starting point in sharing how you are feeling and would be able to offer support. Lifeline are a 24/7 support line that can be contacted on 13 11 14 to speak to a confidential support person. Our Cancer Council Information and Support Line can be contacted on 13 11 20. Our health professionals would be happy to take your call.

Speaking to someone about how you are feeling can make a tremendous impact on how you are feeling. I do encourage you to reach out.

Take care,

Felicity
