Results are finally in...Kinda

Finally heard that I have ALCL. But the lab is doing a FISH test . This will help with my treatment plan.

I'm going in for a PET later this week.

They took more blood today for more testing.

Will be seeing the surgeon to have a port put in next week .

Plus a echo maybe this Friday.

Doctor wants to be ready to start treatment as soon as he FISH report comes in.

Hey wegotthis, how is it going? Have you started treatment yet?

May I ask how long each step of the process has gone for you?

Sass

I'll start treatment this Wednesday.

Chemo then 24 hours later the 2nd half of my treatment.. Crazy!!!

This well happen once every 3 weeks.

I'm actually very happy with how well I'm being cared for. I have a great doctor who has made things move fast.

I lost count of how many tests I have had.

I had my port put in my chest before we even knew 100 % what I have.  My lumps in my armpit were removed i believe in 3 weeks.

It's going on two months if I remember right since I found them.

Most people would feel like that's a long time. But it was very busy for me.  Sometimes 3 Dr/ tests visits s week. Countless lab work and imaging.

Feel free to ask me anything else.

Hope all is well with you and your love one's

The treatment I had for lymphoma was called RCHOP which is 5 different drugs every 3 weeks. Is that what you are having?

I hope all is well with you and your family.

My treatment is very close to CHOP.

My understanding is the difference is in the medication they are using.

CHOP has been known to cause long term side effects on the heart. During testing they found a problem with my heart so they are using something that is a little bit likely to harm mine.

I think finding out about my heart was harder than finding cancer. I never would have thought it wasn't prefect.

I live a pretty healthy lifestyle.

From what I have been told I'm more likely to have major issues with my heart if after treatment this cancer comes back.

Next month after my second treatment they are going to do another heart image.

Crazy how quick life can change...

Stay safe my friend 🙏

Re: Results are finally in...Kinda

Hi Wegotthis, I had the heart scan before treatment and  it seemed good. 3 months after I had my last treatment in June I had a heart attack in mid August!! Had to have a stent put in! The cardiologist thinks because I have rheumatoid arthritis I was always at risk of heart problems. I think the chemo would have not helped. It’s taken me a while to get over the heart attack, I’m still working on my fitness   I was just starting to feel a bit better after chemo and then that happened. Anyway I was saved once again and  am grateful to still be here. My time is in God’s Hands. 🙏💕 Linda G

I hope all is well with you my friend..

I couldn't agree more about our time is in God's hands!!!

Even before having cancer I have always appreciated every day I wake up.

I'm a firm believer that no matter how this turns out that my family will remember that the time we are going through will make us stronger and closer to God.

I call that a win..
