Hi everyone I’m just a bit nervous as tomorrow I will be seeing the oncology regarding chemo. I will keep you all inform what happen and how long I will have chemo for? I’m just a bit stress as to what it will cost for the treatment of chemo, I know Medicare covers certain amount as I’m on a dsp pension. I will find this out tomorrow and maybe someone might be able to help me.

Hi @David_M sorry to hear about your cancer, I also have stage 3 cancer in the bowel and I had the colectomy surgrey and soon I will be having chemo. How is things going with you hope your doing ok

Hi Kate how are you? Me I’m ok so far i just been diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer, I have had the colectomy surgery about 5 weeks ago and I will see the oncologist regarding chemotherapy as it started to spread in the lymph nodes. It was a shock to me finding that I have cancer and I try not to worry but sometimes it can’t be help. I’m glad I found this community forum where you can talk to people. I live in Orange nsw and I will try and see if I can find other people in my area that are going through the same thing as I am.

Hi not sure if anyone would know about this? Does anyone know if you have to pay for chemo therapy? As I am on a disability support pension and I have no health fund.

Hi Ashley, Thanks for sending me a message, I will be considering what you said either counselling service or the Câncer connect service where you get peer support. I’m in stage 3 bowel cancer where it just started to go into the lymph nodes. I have had the operation which was the extended right hemicolectomy surgery. On the 30th September I will be seeing the oncologist regarding chemotherapy. Any support will be great Ashley
