It is such a terrible shock to receive a diagnosis and navigate surgery and treatment so quickly.  When you call our Cancer Council Information and Support Line on 13 11 20  you come through to one of our health professionals who are oncology nurses or social workers. They are very informed, incredibly supportive and a wealth of information for support services within Cancer Council and the wider community. Hi @artofwar ,    I am so sorry for the loss of your mum. Especially at a time when you have your own child and would love to have her there with you. I hear from your post that your child gives you strength amongst the grief. Children are wonders at being in the present moment and focusing on the here and now. I like to imagine that grief and joy are interwoven. Our grief helping us to notice the moment of joy in our lives.  I know you mentioned that it is difficult to talk about grief. It can be helpful to speak with a professional who has expertise in grief. What amazing strength and perseverance you must have.  It also sounds like it could be a good idea to speak to someone about how you are feeling. Your medical team or GP are a great starting point in sharing how you are feeling and would be able to offer support.
