What your Mum is going through is possibly denial and her way of dealing with her prognosis at this time.I know from my own experience when you are told you have a certain life expectancy,it is a massive shock,we all react differently to this news,I was able to have surgery for PC and I am still here living beyond the medical expectations for me, however still terminal but life is good ups and downs.I am sure it is harder for my family than me as they see how I am going over time, we talk openly about what is happening,so I possibly understand what you are feeling it is normal to feel the way you do, all that you can do is continue the love and support to Mum and Dad a big ask I know. And Look after yourself as well.
And if you or your family need professional help don't be afraid to ask for it we did and it helped but that is a personal decision,I am lucky my Daughter moved back home to help out so if anything happens to me I know my wife will be OK which has taken a huge load off me
thinking of you all good luck with the chemo

I do not think you are being over sensitive, but sometimes we get wrapped up in our own little world and say things with out thinking of how a friend is feeling and once spoken can't be taken back.Take care at this time.

I think you shouldn't be to hard on yourself for feeling that way, Chemo affects everyone differently.I done it hard during my chemo and someone else who was having chemo at the same time swam in a race I thought what is wrong with me why can't i do that,I was so tired and sick,I gave myself a little slack and just looked forward to the end of chemo, you can not be supposedly positive all the time, just think of those who do not have the option of chemo good luck with your treatment

I lost my Dad to lung cancer when i was in my teens and for a long time I was lost, in those days there was no such thing as counceling, I wish it was around then,It might be of benefit if you seek some professional help from your GP or else where It may help you cope with the loss of your Mum.

I had a whipple two and a half years ago and after being told I was terminal I am still around.I find that it is harder on my family than it is on me it has not all been smooth sailing but we are managing.you need to ask where was the tumor situated in the pancreas what the tumor count is doing and also is Chemo on the cards, for me I am ill but for the family to see what happens at various stages of this illness is very hard on them but the family and friends help to me has made my path much easier, I would be lost without it and appreciate everything done for me by everyone medicos included. So best wishes which ever path you take
