I had a Whipple 2and a half years ago done in the public system where you do not get a choice of surgeon, however after a chat with my to be surgeon I was very pleased that he was doing my surgery, he has done many and is part of a group who specialize in this surgery I definitely can not complain
I have just had hernia repair surgery by the same surgeon I can not speak highly enough of him and his work, I also seen him doing trauma surgery on Television recently I literally owe him my life so sometimes luck and fate play a part in decisions made in our lives. If you want to know more PM me

Very sorry to read of your situation having Cancer at 18 years of age and then to have it return again Would be shattering for everyone concerned ,I am sure every day is hard however that is the way of people diagnosed with Cancer ,sometimes when you look ok people do forget what is happening inside your body and how you are feeling it would be very hard on your partner as well.
Hoping that you get more favourable results from your test, good luck for the future

Sounds like if possible you need a family member to really seek information on your Dads behalf try finding out when the doctors do their rounds failing that Go as high as possible, when I was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer my bile duct was bloked and they put a stent in It fixed the jaundice and after Ct Scans they decided to perform a whipple has there been any mention of surgery or chemotherapy for your Dad, keep persisting until you get information surely some one knows, or are they waiting on the results of the biopsy before deciding what is the best form of treatment it must be frustrating and worrying for all concerned.best wishes
