Tonight on Today Tonight was a segment called Lisa Maree . She has the same cancer that a few of us on this site have . Her's is especially aggressive . Lisa was diagnosed only last year and now ,only 24 years old ,she has been told that she may not make it to Christmas .

I know that head and neck cancers can leave people with so many side effects from treatment . It's amazing how some do cope . Check out the site mentioned as you will get so much help there .
An underactive thyroid is usually diagnosed by a simple blood test . This will be repeated, after the gp has had you on the medication for a while ,to check if the dosage is best for you . I went on the medication a few weeks after my radiation finished . Later the dosage was increased . I had been borderline for needing medication for about 8 years . You will only need to take a little tablet each day if you have an underactive thyroid and it is very inexpensive too .
Having an untreated ,underactive thyroid could lead to serious health problems but treatment itself is simple .

Will reply in a private message to you with more details . I am glad to hear from you . I was a little worried . I hope you get good results from your MRI . Mine have not shown any cancer but the last showed sinus problems . I also have nerve pain for which I take medication . My gp helps there . I am having annual MRIs and annual chest xrays . Dr P agrees with the xrays which will be arranged through my gp as well .

I'm sorry that this has happened . I've heard it said before that even when you are expecting this you cannot be prepared . You have been trying to be strong for so long it's ok now to lean on others .
That smile will become a precious memory .It will be difficult to believe that all this is real at times as it's so hard to accept . My thoughts are with you .
