Hi @mensana, There's no need to apologise for a long rave. Sometimes you need to have a rant to keep your sanity. Being on a rural property, you wouldn't have much choice of doctors close by, I suppose. So it would be hard to be able to choose who you see, let alone get a second opinion. That doctor may have cut your life short by many years simply because of his apathetic, she'll be right mate attitude. One of my pet hates is people who can't/won't do their job properly simply because they can't be bothered. And it's everywhere, as you've discovered thru your dealings (or lack thereof) with Telstra. Hi @samwise221, It's very hard watching someone you care about going thru cancer, especially when you're so far away from each other. Regarding doctors not giving a prognosis - they rarely will, because they can be quite easily wrong, especially if they don't know exactly what they're dealing with. I think you should find someone to talk with about ways to cope, & you have a few options for this. You can call the Cancer Council # 131120, Lifeline, a member of the clergy, engage a social worker, or even just download to a friend. Hi @Viktoriaenvy , You are already doing the right thing by having it looked at, and as you said, if your GP says it's nothing, definitely push for a more thorough exam or see a different GP.    I'm glad you're listening to your body because you are sick.  Keep in mind though, that it may not be cancer.  It could be hepatitis, heart failure, fatty liver or glycogen storage disease.  I don't want to scare you, but you are definitely doing the right thing.  The sooner you find out what's going on, the earlier you can start treatment for whatever it is.
