Life sucks. I feel that good people go through bad times more than the self centred people of this world. Im sure youre a great mum Naomi and your husband would be so proud of you. Ive just started seeing a great psychologist who is experienced in grieving and bereavement. Its early days but it does help just by talking to him. Hi NaomiW It is unbelievably hard what you're going through. I lost my partner 7 weeks ago to pancreatic cancer. He was trying to make his 55th birthday but didnt quite get there. We had been together for 10 years both having been married before. I felt that I had found my life partner and we would be one of those cute old couples walking and holding hands until we were ancient. I feel so robbed of our future. Everyone else seems to be getting on with life...I just have a big hole in my heart. I nursed him at home for the past few months so now I just wander around an empty house. My daughter who lives an hour away talks to me everday and sees me regularly. My friends are amazing and try to keep me busy. There will always be that emptiness that can never be filled. Hi Tania10 So sorry to hear about your dad. It was so sudden from his diagnosis to his passing that you are still trying to process it. My partner died 7 weeks ago. The days I dont cry I feel guilty as if I should be... Then out of the blue it happens. I feel guilty everytime I catch myself laughing with friends.....as if I should be grieving more. You are so busy with life as a mum..sister and daughter. Be kind to yourself. If you aren't crying it doesnt mean you didnt love your dad. Hi KarenC81 So sorry to hear about your dad. I have recently lost my partner to pancreatic cancer and it is a soul destroying and cruel disease. My partner hung on for 3 years and 3 months. We did have some good times and memories but the last 8 months was a rollercoaster. Please please just push the Drs to keep his pain well controlled down the track. Goran was never pain free. It was distressing for him and  for me to feel completely useless. Just continue to show your dad love , kindness and compassion as I know you would be. We can only do our best and if we give our all..we have no guilt only pride in knowing we did the hard yards with them. Your dad will know this believe me. You're doing a great job.. ... View more

Hi TOM123 Im so sorry for your loss. 5 weeks ago I lost my partner to pancreatic cancer. He was a healthy man prior to his diagnosis...always had a positive outlook and a great sense of humour. He had uncontrolled pain for the last year of his life. I am mad and feel so let down by the medical profession. First he suffered through massive surgery...chemo for months...radiotherapy x2. When his cancer spread to his spine he was told if he didnt have radiotherapy he would be paralysed. Great choice. Allready he was in a frail state after battling for 2 years. He was terrified of a painful death and was assured this wouldnt happen. More lies.....his death was certainly not a peaceful one and yes this was while in palliative care. I have no faith in Drs now and feel huge guilt for his suffering. Watching somebody wasting away and losing hope I will never recover from.   ... View more
