Hey Sailor You and i could be going through menopause together. I am to have a blood test next week i think and then i should know. Mind you i am absolutely over the moon about that bit. I am having interesting side effects from my treatment and apparently no one else in western australia has had them, bit of a hmmmm and the drug company are looking into it apparently. Hiya smmee I am sorry to hear what your husband is going through and then in turn what you are going through also. It is a tough gig and i would arm yourself with friends/family/social worker or the cancer council - all of these people can help you. The cancer council can help you in very practical ways aswell as offering counselling. IT is very overwhelming and confusing to find your way through the miriad of people who deal with this that and the other. One person that i have found a complete gem has been my cancer nurse coordinator and i still contact her if i want to find out something or i have a worry about anything. Sylvie ... you defnitely are not alone. Do you have someone who can go to the oncologist with you? If you dont want to ask a friend or family member, you might be able to ask the cancer social worker from your hospital to go with you. There is a lot of help and support out there available to us. Sometimes we just dont realise what is available, i know i didnt and have learnt a lot from this site and the people on it. Heya S Yup me too i dont understand the mentality. I think what happens with some of them is that it becomes a challenge to beat the system as much as anything else. When we access the internet we all have a number assigned by our isp which can identify us and we can be linked back to that number (jump in here anyone if i have got this wrong). However, there are programs out there that can assign a different number and keep assigning different numbers to you, so that you can evade bans on chat rooms and sites. There is a link you can click on which takes you to the nsw cancer council place, whereby you can read further. Hi Sylvie I can relate to that, the not being able to talk bit. One baby step at a time and as you are ready. Nothing has to be done in one great chunk, so to speak. I think that we often do things when we are able to face them or cope with whatever it is. Writing is a great way to start and i think there is something on this site under another tab (from up the top of the home page) where the cancer council has some links on written material.
