Hi Julie we plan a small lunch today and maybe a small flutter. i have to leave for my appointment at 1 so will miss most of the hype. at least i should be able to get to Charlies in record time with all the trafic at a stand still. here's hoping. cheers Linda

Today i head back to perth for day 17 of treatment. i have had a wonderful time with my sister and her son in Bunbury. we did lots of walking the shops, sight seeing and socialising. caught up with my friend Carol who is not doing that well. she was really happy to see us and have a chat. i was shocked a bit as i saw her 12 months ago and she is going down hill rapidly. it was a bit sad for me as i am doing so well. (i felt a bit guilty). my sister is coming with me today to see what they do at radiation. i told her its a 2 min appointment by she want to see for herself. had a wonderful chat to my son this morning. he and his partners have moved into a nice new building and set up a bigger sportspower in Esperance. i cant wait to see the photos of the end result. my grandson got the parcel i sent home and is very excited to have new clothes. gee its nice to spoil him. Hubby has enjoyed his weekend with him and said he might get him back for next weekend. not long now and he will be joining me in perth. good luck for those that plan to have a flutter on the cup. i hope you all have some luck and it brightens your day. cheers Jodielee12 (Linda)

Hi there I just want to let you know that i'm with you: 'enjoy your day doing the washing, cleaning the kitchen and changing the sheets on the bed'. to have a normal day in your life at the moment is just wonderful. you go girl, make the most of this day by yourself. cheers Linda

i cant believe they made it so hard for you. you must have been ready to kick them all up the butt. i would have. i have had wonderful treatment from everyone at Charlies from the office girls right down to the Doctors. the only problem for us was the fortnightly visits, when you live 5 1/2 hours from Perth its a long way to travel. They coordinated some of my visits together so that we could stay a couple of days then come back later. now seems to be the hardest part as i am away from my husband. we have never been apart in 33 years of marriage and i am feeling it. its always hard when i go for my appointments as i am so well and other are not. i am unsure what to say, what to do and how to act. i am not sure if others feel the same way. anyway had better go and get a meal ready. cheers and thanks for the chat. my days are moving right along now. today i had treatment 16 and i saw the Doctor after it. they are happy with the result so far. i am starting to go a bit pink and have a couple of blisters that i will keep an eye on. i arrived in Bunbury today to spend a few days with my sister and will head back to perth on Sunday. i am looking forward to a bit of fun with her as she is good for a laugh. this afternoon i went to visit a school friend who has cancer and is not very well. she is at home and being looked after by her parents. i was not sure how i would feel about this but she was so positive and excited to see me, it made my day. my grandson has gone to visit his 'grumpy' for the weekend so that makes me happy. as long as i know he is ok then i can be ok as well. all take care and i will chat soon. Dear Miss Lane i just want to let you know that i am thinking of you at this time and the decision you are about to make. My sister had invasive breast cancer at 27, the breast was removed and reconstructed. at aged 52, cancer (Grade 1 Ductal Carcinoma in Situ)was picked up in a regular mammogram in her other breast, so she decided not to mess around and have it removed and reconstructed. she is very happy with the decision she made and she said she would not change a thing. she said she does not live in fear anymore. back in August I was diagnosed with grade 1 Ductal Carcinoma in Situ. The piece was removed and I am now half way through my Radiation Treatment. I sometimes wonder if the right decision was made but i trusted my Doctors to lead me in the right way. i have asked myself 'is there a reason why I developed the same sort of cancer'. it will always be on my mind i guess. chin up and take care Jodielee12

i am well into my 28 days of radiation now and an still feeling quite good. i have a small amount of irritation but other wise i am fine. i am not as tired as i was when i first started. i put that down to feeling very home sick and not getting enough sleep. my husband came for the weekend and will not be back now until the last week. its my son's 31st Birthday today and i wish i could be there in person but we will have to have a cake when i get home. i miss my grandson's like mad and would give anything to see them and have a cuddle. there mum sends photos all the time and i speak to them on the phone when i can, so thats good. i think i counted 21 days until i am home in my own home, which will be good. cheers for now Jodielee12

Hi Jules2 i am on my 14th day of raditation and i am doing well also. the girls are really thrilled with my progress and check me every day. i was a little tired the first two weeks but i put that down to missing everyone and being very home sick. my husband came up of the weekend so that was really great as i have been missing him so much. its my sons birthday 31st birthday today and i would have loved to be with him but perhaps we can have a late birthday cake when i get home. i am missing my grandson's very much and would just love to have a cuddle or two. i am staying with friends at the moment, who have been amazing towards me. My husband will arrive on the 12th Nov and we will move to Crawford House so that we can have some time together and i will be closer to the Cancer Centre and will not have to travel. please take care of yourself. cheers Jodielee

wow its now 11 days down and 17 to go. still feelin ok within myself so that's good. i am expecting my husband this weekend so i am so excited about that. just wish he could bring the rest of the family and the grandies. i have a long weekend this weekend as they service the machine so i dont have to go back until Tuesday. will be nice to have a break. cheers Jodielee (Linda)
