Judy I had surgery for Cancer then an 18 cycle of Gemzar chemotherapy, I missed the last 4 cycles as I was to ill to continue it does not seem to have affected my longevity,so if it returns do not blame yourself I just focused on how much better I felt once Chemo was stopped. your oncologist would know how your body was handling the Chemo in making that decision good luck. kj ... During my period with illness and different surgeries I agree with kasianne you are admitted on the urgency of the illness in the Public system. My surgeries have all been in the public system and I have no complaints about there treatment and compassion from the nursing staff.I am always confident in there ability to help me,with out there skill and knowledge I would not be replying here,but you also read of people who are unhappy with Public,and Private,it is good you have a choice when you have health insurance. kj ... Lukke1992 I feel for what you are going through at such a young age, you will be surprised how much the body can absorb, and the hidden strength that can rise, as you face this massive crisis with your health,we each respond differently to Cancer.It is very daunting to have all these treatments happening to your body and leave you with a weakened body and mind after surgery and the side effects Chemo brings. It takes time to adjust after surgery physically and mentally so don't be to hard on your self, it may help if you have a chat to a professional or medico.
