Dear James
I can suggest a great blog for you to read. It's called My Unwelcome Stranger by a NSW man named Denis Wright. You could also google a man called David Bailey, he was a musician who had this tumour but left a great legacy behind.
For our journey my husband showed personality changes long before he was diagnosed and the grand mal seizure he suffered which led to his diagnosis also heralded right sided weakness that only ever got worse.
There is no standard answer, all are different but the harsh reality is that you will lose abilities over time so enjoy every day with all the joy you can muster.
Best wishes to you and your family
Terese.

Hi James,
It is a shitty hand you have been dealt. My family has been through your journey over the last 3 years or so. My advice to you is to be totally honest with your children, they have a hard journey to travel with you and honesty I believe is the only way to go. Feel free to read my posts if you like.
Fight the hardest you can but also enjoy every moment you have as you go.
Cheers Terese.

Well done for being so honest and getting that load off your chest. I hope it relieved your stress a bit. Was in your shoes a while ago and understand how you feel. It is not wrong for you to be trying to make things easier for yourself on the other side of this terrible nightmare you are both having to cope with. Life does go on for the living and it is short for us all so we need to be as happy as possible for as much of as we can. Keep your chin up.
Hugs Terese.

Hello Jobeth
Love and hugs to you. This is the toughest part of the journey I thought. The mixed feelings of wanting it to end versus you can't bear for it to really come to an end is intolerable but it just has to be lived through.

Dear Amelia
No one can gurantee it will be ok in the way you want but I'm sure you have an inner strength that you will draw on that will see you through no matter which twisty path his illness takes you. You are already showing your coping skills by using this site and reaching out for support.
Hugs Terese.

Oh Jobeth
my heart aches for you. So wish we all lived closer so I could give you a hug.
Be gentle and kind to yourself it's all so tough but then so quickly it's over.

Stuart died early Tuesday morning, 19/03/2013.
The beast cruely took its time and the last few weeks were horrendous.
I miss the old Stuart terribly but am glad the GBM Stuart has found peace.
Deep breaths and lots of tears, I hope I still have the courage to face this new normal.
Hugs to all Terese.
