Hi Raech,   Sorry for the delay, I haven't been on here for a while.   I had my operation in June 2013 and went through 6 weeks of radiotheray followed by 6 months of chemo'. The radio was a breeze with no side affects and the chemo was relatively easy bar one or two rough nights each round. Toward the end my blood count dropped like a stone and I had to have a couple of transfusions (top ups) to get me through.   I lost a bit of weight but only 5 - 6 kgs over the course of treatment (have since found this!).   I was offered all sorts of alternative and additional herbal remedies but at the end of the day, I think our Doctors know whats best and I hve been well since. I did have a seizure whilst driving in May last year but this has been treated with anti-seizure meds and I havent had any other problems.   Importantly, I am here, well and I don;t think too much about it anymore. I started my own business in March last year and I put myself under a fair bit (lot) of daily stress working 12 hour plus 7 days a week....   My prognosis has gone from an initial 5 years to 12 years plus now which is way over the horizon for me.   I think the key to it all is keep busy, positive and stay happy!   I hope this has helped you in your journey.           ... Hi Chinwag Could be he is tired. At different stages Pete had mini tremors mainly when he would be reaching with his extended arm. For me when Pete started having mini shivers when he was asleep that was a sign of progression. Hope you are keeping a diary of things as it really is helpful, also having questons prepared for oncology appointments, I felt like a PA most of the time but it helped me focus and remember everything. Hi Miso, I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my mum to lung cancer 2 weeks ago. She was only diagnosed 3 months ago so it's all happened so quickly. But at the same time the last 3 months seem like an eternity. I have a 9 month old baby that keeps me busy, but the void is always there. She is never far from my thoughts, and I miss her so much. It's still hard to believe she's gone. I try to keep busy, but I think it's important to feel whatever I need to feel. So if I need to cry, I will cry. My days were usually filled by visiting mum at the hospital. And now that she is gone, it's a struggle. I understand what your going through, but I also know that our loved ones would want to see us happy. It might just take a while to get there. Karolina ... View more

thanks for your comments. We are nearly finished the radium & hopefully head back home this coming Friday. Chemo Dr said my husband will pick up once home after a week or two. He will have a month's break from chemo. we will find out more details this coming Thursday. He is very tired & weak & his short term memory is shot to pieces & he does get aggro about little things then he apologies. This site is very helpful & gives me some insight on what to expect although I don't think my daughter approves of me doing this. I am hoping we can get back to some form of normality once home but for how long, who knows. He was sick last week so they upped his dex & nausea meds but will be weaned off dex I imagine once we go home. ... View more

My husband has a Grade 4 GBM has had 2 craniotomies in 5 weeks. He is 62 and was a fit healthy man & had 3 seizures, the first one beside me in bed at 3am. the next while the paramedics were on hand then another on the way to the hospital. The total shock of all this rocked us all & we live in CQ & have spent a great deal of time since July 13 here in Brisbane. He is having chemo orally & we are heading into our 5th wk of radium next wk with one to go before we head home. He is a champion, never complains but his short term memory is shot to pieces & lacks concentration at times & also gets snappy at me over little things but is fine with our daughter when she visits. we know the long term prognosis isn't good but it is frightening to know what lies ahead. this is such an emotional time for me as his carer & I try to keep upbeat & happy with him but I have my cries alone.
