I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I remember when I last my father to a heart condition, I was sad I didn't know him better. He and my mother divorced when I was 7 and I only saw him occasionally after that. I didn't get the chance to make many memories with him. Remember those happy memories you two shared. Special mementoes, places you'd go together. Keep those things close and talk about him to your kids. My husband has Oesopgageal cancer and it's those things I hope to share with my children about him.

Anyone out their know anything about fluid on the lung? My husband started to feel breathless over Xmas and was diagnosed with fluid on the lungs. It's spidery so they can't drain it. Trouble is they can't fix it. He's had 3 different types of antibiotics. CT X-rays show no blood clots. So without knowing what caused it they can't fix it. He's at his wits end can't do anything cause he's so breathless. Any advice.

Thanks Jules I'll keep magnesium in mind. What what I've read on here you've been on this roller coaster for a while. We're back to the oncologist on Wednesday. Fingers crossed. CT showed fluid on the lungs so things are very uncomfortable at the moment until we get that drained.

my husband has had radiotherapy on his Oesopgagus and is now experiencing problems with the muscles in this area. The muscles now seem to be weak and regularly he experiences pain as if he's torn a muscle and this takes a couple of days to mend. Has anyone else experienced anything similar. Can radiotherapy weaken muscles and can anything be done?

My husband has oesophageal cancer and is experiencing a lot of different pain. At first it was stomach pain that seems to be responding to pantoprazolem tabs. His main pain seems to be muscular and this pain travels. Mostly on his upper torso. Has anyone else experienced similar. From what I've read pain seems to be common and I am thinking its how you manage it. So far we have not asked for any medications. Should we? Will consistent light exercise help muscular pain?

Thanks for your input Kathy. I really appreciate it. Poor guy had stomach pains all day yesterday but didn't throw up which is good. I think the pantoprazole med's work well if he takes them at exactly the same time everyday.

At the moment his level of care fluctuates. He generally is mobile. We have been told that his cancer is terminal but treatable. He has had 6 rounds chemo and 2 weeks of radio therapy. Al he tolerated well. They have inserted a stent which has taken it out of him. Has lost a lot of weight and muscle tone. So tires easily. Has had a lot of stomach pain which he is linking to hunger and has started having a lot more small meals which are staying down finally.

Hi Kathy
Thanks for the reply. Just wanted to say thank you for being on here to support others.
It's coming up to a year since my husbands diagnosis. I'm finding being strong for everyone is starting to wear me down. Im currently on holidays from work and an finding not having work as a distraction stressful. I can't say these things out loud to family and friends without feeling selfish. Thanks for listening 🙂
