Dear Sophiasmommy I have ovarian cancer, successfully removed this year and I am currently on chemo. What I have done is gone through your list and deleted symptoms that I did not have but left the ones that I had. lower abdomen pain bloating <- a HUGE yes, it was a solid mass like I was pregnant, the bloating NEVER went away feels like "pressure" low down in my pubic area severe pelvic cramps and stabs - accompanying this I had huge blood clots. pap smear and blood tests all normal My symptoms that you don't seem to have: No appitite - never got hungry but could eat a lot, but most days I could get away with 1 meal per day Gained weight for no reason - stomach Very hard abdomen Frequent diarrhea HEAVY periods. I bled through a super tampon in 3 minutes. Severe debilitating period pain. It actually sounds like you are having a very rough time with your health right now and I'm so sorry for you. The problem with ovarian cancer is that the symptoms are can be put down to other things like indigestion. My one suggestion for you is this: be your own advocate. IF you fear it is ovarian ask to be checked for that specifically. I have a family friend whose friend got ovarian cancer and it scared her so much she walked into the doc the asked to be check, they did it and found she had it. Stage 1, VERY early no need for chemo. So please, if you are worried, ask to be checked. There is nothing wrong with being checked. I'm sorry things are difficult for you, and I hope that you will have answers soon. I'll be thinking of you ❤️ -Lainey

Dear Kate, Thank you so much! I read you links and watched the webinar immediately! They have been really helpful! I'v moved my Surface to my thighs now and am not freaking out 🙂 AI only need to listen to the podcast now, which I'm looking forward to. The webinar was really good, it addressed so many things I was feeling even though my treatment isn't over yet. The practicality of it was great. I still have time to work on it before I go back into my workplace but I think I can chip away at my fear and be able to not freak myself out. Thank you so much for those resources and your encouragement. Fear is something I had never really felt before having cancer so I had no idea how to deal with, thank you for taking me seriously and helping me. I truly appreciate it. <3<3 ❤️ ❤️

Hello! Yes I have cancer I wont do the into-story. Just wanted to talk about a mental side effect I was not at all prepared for! Has anyone else's brain thrown-up somewhat irrational fears? My fear isn't debilitating at the moment - honestly cutting sugar out of my diet is probably good anyway, but I love/d technology but I'm scared of it now, I'm even sitting here with my surface far away from me on a pillow, and my workplace is FILLED with technology, I don't know how to curb the fear of going back there surrounded by iPads. It's strange, I fear getting cancer again more than dying. I've read about low-frequency EMFs but my brain connect my ovarian cancer to how I sat with my iPad and all my technology resting against my abdomen, irrational I know, has anyone else had this fear or something else that they have overcome? Any tips are welcome! <3<3

Hello asligonis. I'm not an expert, just someone with cancer too. I had/have ovarian cancer stage 2b (which is considered an early stage) A successful surgery and am now on adjunctive chemo. Could I ask why you don't want to go on chemo? If you can be operated on and have a successful surgery you might not need to go on treatment chemo - especially since you said it's in its early stages. But again I'm no expert on your type of cancer, I'm only saying this because I had a family friend who also had ovarian cancer caught so early, the surgery was so successful they did not put her on chemo (she was also considered low risk) . I was personally eager to start chemo after my surgery because I kept thinking about microscopic cancer cells that I have (I'm considered high risk and was recommended for genetic testing)and knew chemo was my best chance to eliminate them. Have a look at clinical trials into immunotherapy too (not a cure but certainly an exciting and well documented with experts and scientists) and talk to your onc. GOod luck! I'm happy for you that you caught it in early stages that's a great positive.
