3 year CTs and bloods today were all clear. The magical 5 year period is drawing closer. For some unknown reason I was really fearful today as to what the results would be but the fears were foundless. I still have a 6cm cyst on my liver but that is all. While I was quietly jubilant, I stopped to think of those of you who are still undergoing treatment or who have not been as fortunate as me. Cancer continues to bring perspective doesn't it? For those like myself for whom the shadow has receeded once aagin, let us quietly breathe again and continue to venture forward. For our other friends, take heart and strength. Take care all, Samex

You go girl! I am so happy for you to have the all clear. Wishing you many more years of health and happiness. You are right in your words though - cancer does definitely bring perspective and it makes us appreciate what we have and who we have to share it with. Best wishes, Sharon

Thanks all. Sailor I do like the image of throwing off the shackles of cancer. Eric Bogle is so good at these images isn't he? I do hope that once i am outside the 5 year square, the spectres will retreat. For now, continue (dare I say it)"moving forward". S

Great news Samex....Big congrats! :D I think having cancer will always bring some type of perspective to us now because we see things differently & appreciate the small things which can seem quite trivial or irrelevant to others. I agree with "benlisecca"...U go girl!!! ;) Mez 🙂

I shall continue to share. Bloods and CTs all clear but it is time for the colonoscopy again! What joy! What fun! Wonder what the colonic irrigationists would make of all of this? S

Hi Samex I spent several hours yesterday searching for some documents regarding a regular evening meeting I thought I was at last year. Eventually I decided that: a.) the documents were not on my computer; b.) I didn't have them in hard copy; therefore I could not have been at the meeting. Why not? So I dug out last years diary - there it was colonoscopy the following day. Clearly you want to forget it so quickly you just forget about a week each way. Empathy is about all I can offer. cheers Sailor All loose things seem to drift down to the sea, and so did I. Louis L'Amour

Sailor, Didn't we have something going about T-shirts last year? I have a recollection of a series of posts but the content eludes me. Thank you for your empathy and for those who have said "At least you have a day off school," I will wliingly swap places! S

Hi Samex My recollection is the suggestion of a T shirt with on one side "My Urologist takes the Piss" and on the other "My Gastroenterologist gives me the Shits". Sorry abut the language but sailors have a reputation for being bawdy. Cheers Sailor What can be more difficult than to guyde a ship engulfed, when only water and heaven may be seen? Hi all, Feeling a little wonky from colonoscopy today but all good news as I trundle further towards 3 and 1/2 and 4, then 5 years. As my surgeon said today, just one small "weed" that needed removing and he doesn't seem to think that it was anything nasty. Hopefully I can stretch it to 2 years this time! Hope everyone is doing OK. S

Fantastic news! As long as it is just a little it of weeding required that is OK. It is when the megalitres of RoundUp are required that we need too worry! cheers Sailor Have you stood by the ocean on a diamond hard morning And felt the horizon stir deep in your soul?
