I am an gym/oncology nurse. My mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 2 years ago. This has been an unique challenge. I work with ovarian cancer patients every day as their nurse navigator and support nurse. When my mom was diagnosed I initially thought that this was a good thing that I know so much about the disease and treatment but not so much now. I was the one to ask him to go to the GP to get chected out and it took him 4 months to do it but did it. Early September he was on hormone tablets of a 100 mgs awaiting radiation over Christmas for 3 months finshing in late January 2002. He was working at the time at Hymans in N.

Have been in remission for a few months and have started doing Liberal Art course at TAFE as well as some part time work. Sometimes I feel like I have taken on too much, but other days feel good. Being a single parent and to have gone through what I have been (twice), when I see others in my course who have no health issues, and hear them talking about parties and going out drinking and then whinging they have no time to do the course work and handing in work late or not at all. I am keeping up with the work and my last essay earned a high distinction which Im proud of.
