Hi,I have for the first time attended a Relay For Life, this was at Logan City Qld.,in October & I would like to say just how much I enjoyed the experience even though a severe electrical/thunder storm stopped the event going all night. There was a lot of fun & happy people there but it was also very moving, especially when we lit the candles. The thing that impressed me most though was the large number of teenagers & younger kids there as supporters & family members. I will certainly be there again next year & may even be part of a team, hopefully the weather will be a bit kinder.

Hello everyone, Well, after 2 day's training last week, I am now a peer support volunteer for Cancer Connect. Just in case you don't know what that is I will tell you. For someone that is newly diagnosed and want to speak to someone that has experienced the same cancer or treatment, they can contact the helpline 131120 and select option 3. Details will be taken from the caller and then they will be matched up with a peer support volunteer. Contact is by phone, and at no time is your or the volunteer's personal details revealed, first name only.

Does anyone else have stories of encouragement of how they have changed their diets for imminent/related health detriments from cancer, I would love to hear your success stories for positiveness to draw on. Thank you Jules

I had my surgery on Tuesday - lower anterior resection... an 8 hour surgery - keyhole and I came home on Saturday afternoon. The surgery went well although it was apparently a tricky one thanks to a large low rectal tumour and small pelvis, the surgeon was happy with the outcome. I was so anxious about the surgery but certainly happy to be moving onto my next step of recovery. I have a clinic appointment in 2 weeks to find out the pathology results and the next step.
