I have just worked out that since 1 July i have travelled 3,200 kms to have treatment. No wonder i am worn out! Although I have to be honest that figure does include tomorrow and the return trip on friday. lol

Hi everyone. I started a clinical trial in October for the Braf inhibitor produced by GSK. If anyone out there is on a trial for Melanoma secondaries with GSK or the Roche equivalent I would be really interested in comparing some notes of side effects and benefits etc. The process is not an easy one. Taking some pills 3 times a day is certainly a lot easier than doing chemo. I sit in the day care suite at Westmead and see those who are undertaking that treatment and my heart goes out to them.

Oops, I hit the wrong button, will start again. A week and a day ago my husband was a person living with cancer, who had sailed through chemo treatment with hardly any time off work. Scan results were showing his primary oesophageal tumour was barely evident and peritoneal cancer hadn't changed from scan in August. A week ago our lives changed forever when he was diagnosed with an aggressive 4 1/2 cm secondary tumour on his brain (right frontal lobe) with a lot of swelling.

I think it was sailor who asked about my alias, as much as the Cats are true champions on the footy field, the real champions are all 4 legged felines - cats small, like my adorable but totally crazy little tabby, to the big cats in the wild.
