Hi, I'm a 50 yr old mother of three young kids, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer stage 1 which I had a radical hysterectomy. The pathology came back good as the cancer was confined just in the cervix. The gynecology oncologist suggests that I should undergo a 6 weeks Radiotheraphy as well. I am so confused now because they were talking no Radiotheraphy needed before my surgery if it's confined in the cervix which it was.

Day 31 and with 6 more treatments left and have my bags packed ready to go back home. Dietitian appointment and she happy that I am back to normal weight. Irritation of the urethra is very minor and bowel problem is fine. The slight skin irritation has gone near the centre tattoo. Applied for a couple of jobs got the usual thanks but no thanks. Bus tripped 3 hours across Perth and back with maybe a casual job lined up. At least that is something.

Well it has been so long that I had forgotten about this great place for support and stories of strength :) I'm back and I have fought colorectal cancer all the way. My temp stoma was reversed Oct 2014 and I'm getting used to the "new normal" and went back to full time duties as a Personal Trainer (at times that is a little interesting).

Hi all.My name is Greg and my wife is De and are both in our late fifties. I am a Carer for my wife, but the roles get a little reversed when the chemo takes over.We have been on this trip now for 2 years. I was diagnosed with NSC lung Cancer (Stage 4 with secondary in pelvis.

Well my journey started in December 2014 just before Christmas. Up until then I was working part time 20 hrs a week loving it as well. I became quite ill with diareah and stomach bloating while on annull leave in Sydney having Christmas with my brother and his family.

Dr Centrelink says I failed the 20 points necessary for them to pay me a Disability Allowance and I can work 15 hours a week. Wow nice of Dr Centrelink to tell me that and its only taken him/her 8 months to decide that. Never mind that I am in hospital 600 kms from home and this is the 4th hospital in 8 months little time to spend working as health comes first. Hard enough at 61 years young and over qualified to even get an interview. Been unemployed for close to 2 years and not a red cent has Centrelink paid me.
