Two days ago Erik had his usual radiotherapy session followed by an appointment with the Radiotherapist. After discussion it was decided to change some of his meds to find out which one is making him stutter really badly (so much that he can't string a sentence together and has to have time off work). It was decided to change the Tramadol and it was to be substituted with Fentanyl patches instead.

Ok - I've started this blog about six months into our current cancer journey, and Erik (my husband) is one week into a six week session of radiotherapy on a small chondrosarcoma located in his sacrum. He also has mets in his lymph nodes and both lungs (extensively). His prognosis according to the medical profession is terminal - incurable and inoperable, and the plan is to manage the symptoms as they arise and make things as comfortable for him as possible.

Daz finished his treatment 5 weeks ago and is still suffering fatigue so bad he can't hardly move, he sleeps most of the day and all night, is so grumpy and has quit smoking because he can't get up to go outside to smoke. Thank god for for that, properly the only good thing that has come from this.

I was treated for anaplastic large cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma about half way through 2013. I endured 6 cycles of CHOP. Nausea and vomiting were a huge issue. I did get good control once I was on the right antiemetics but I was still sick on chemo days. It was like having a terrible hangover but I remembered what I did the night before. Haha.

My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 follicular nhl in 2011. He went into remission after 3 months of chemotherapy, and has been doing brilliantly- up until now. He is due for a check up in 2 weeks, and we just got his blood test results today- his lymphocytes have been dropping over the past 12 months (he has 6 monthy blood tests). The thing that worries me the most is that they have been dropping at a steady rate- 0.3 every 6 months. They are just borderline normal, but it's the trend that I'm really concerned about.
