Hi Have got my results back an (aggressive cancer) grading T1G3 and now this has been put on the back burner as they are regrading it, in the last 4 weeks my body has had a lot of changes, the lymph node seems to be larger, the left side of my stomach is slightly swollen, my appetite is nearly non existent having to force myself to eat because of smell of cooking and food make me feel real nauseas I have lost nearly 10 kilo since this has all started but I do not know at what stage I started to loose the weight. Tuesday 21st February I have an appointment with medical oncology, also an appointment with radiology for new scans will be next week sometime. If I remember right they are going to do a needle biopsy of the lymph node at the same time. so much information to take in! Friends and family are asking me how I am feeling about the news I do not know how I feel. I do not know if this is a good thing or a bad thing I have not cried, got angry, asked why? is this normal all I can seem to say is 1 day at a time. Andrea

It's very normal....when you battle cancer you are fighting two (2) fights, one with the dis-ease and the other yourself....you will lose a few fights along the way and will get back up and dust yourself off....however remember your greatest weapon is your mind. Keep well. Julesx

It is a battle Andrea, It is like cruising along with life one day, and the next day you wake up and its as if you havnt woken up yet, you feel as if you are in this nightmare that wont go away. The world of sunshine has been replaced with darkness and grey. Family and friends are probably just as shocked as you if not more. My wife used to say that it was better for her as she was in this "place", it was more difficult for me, as I was not, just looking in and suffering with her but also for her. One day at a time is good. When any positive news comes along, grab it and if you can build on it and make that your focus. You havnt cried or got angry maybe the numbness that we all feel when we or a loved one gets this illness is preventing it for now, and you and all your energy is focussed on working through. Practical advice with the food, cook or ask for food with no or very little flavourings, try to eat smaller amounts but more often, blended vegies are good. Next time you see the oncologist ask to see the dietician for advice, its is important to keep as strong as you can. My very best of wishes for tue 21st, wombat4

What you are going through now is normal. Its a major shock about things when you get the news. Everything stops and time, in a way seems, to freeze. All you can do is take things one day at a time. Enjoy the good ones when they happen as these are important. They help with the mind and keeping it active, something I find I can not do without. With your appetite, have you tried a protein/energy/nutrient supplement? My appetite is all over the place at the moment. Some times I am very hungry, other times I just don't feel like eating. What I do to over come this, and keep my weight up, is mix the supplement powder with my cereal in the morning, it's a bit like having two meals at once so it keeps me going for some time, then later on I make myself a big smoothie drink with the powder mixed through it. The good thing about this one is that it is is very filling, full of everything that's needed and can be drunk over a period of time so there's is no need to rush through it. There's a whole range of different products out there, give it a go it may help you. take care Tim

I agree with all that has been said . I was diagnosed 2 years ago with cancer and have not cried once, nearly a few times, but only tears in my eyes. We all grieve in different ways .Don't think that whatever you feel or how you react is not normal. It is most probably very normal. It's ok to tell people that you don't know how you feel yet. Tell only what you want to ,to whomever you want . Most will understand.
