How to help an Uncle with end stage Cancer have peace about passing on
Hi all, I've just found out that my Uncle has end stage cancer. It has hit him and us all very hard. My question is how to help my Uncle with the next part of his journey. He doesn't believe in God and doesn't have a faith per se. He's now wondering about the 'what's next'part of things.
Where can I go for information for him and for my family.
Thanks z

I recently saw a tv programme about hospital chaplains. I know you said he doesn't believe in God but I think they still help those people who don't believe to be at peace, Maybe contact a hospital near his home and ask to speak to the chaplain and enquire about this. They help the families too.

Re: How to help an Uncle with end stage Cancer have peace ...
I asked my husband what he wanted and he asked to see a spiritual person who does meditations, vizualisations etc without the religeous factor.
He strongly believes in mother nature and the cycle of life so I and our family/friends are using this to help him have peace on his stage 4 lung cancer journey.
I have had 'dumping' from other people regarding the religion side and I have been firm with them that this is my husbands belief and to respect him for it.
I am so thankful that his medical oncologist is a compassionate person besides being a specialist oncologist he has promised my husband he will be with him and help him on his journey.
So Z perhaps you can ask your uncle how you can help have peace.
Be gentle on yourself.

I agree that hospital chaplains can be a wonderful support. They are not all steeped in mainstream religion. They will also help the family.
