I do love dog related posts!
So lovely to see all of your four-legged friends!! I am a dog person as well, but sadly we don't have dogs right now - miss my dachshunds dearly. Does a toddler count?

Remember to rug up over the next few days @PhilPepper, it's forecast to be a cold one!
For those of you just starting your chemo journey's and dealing with side effects, here are a few things you may like to read or listen to:
Understanding chemotherapy (pdf book)
Fatigue and cancer (pdf book)
Mouth health - very important, especially with oral side effects (pdf leaflet)
Taste and smell changes (pdf leaflet)
Appetite loss and nausea (podcast)
Managing cancer fatigue (podcast)
Managing cancer pain (podcast)
I highly recommend all our podcasts - they are recorded here in Sydney with the amazing Julie McCrossin who has had her own cancer experience.
We have a whole array of different publications - if you're in Australia, I am more than happy to arrange to have these sent out to you as sometimes a physical booklet is preferable. Just send me a private message or email onlinecommunity@nswcc.org.au with the ones you are interested in.
If you're overseas, you can download and read them all here.
Cheers,
Kate

Hi Sch
Yes they removed a tumor. About 20cm of bowel. It started as stage 2, then became stage 2.5 sort of. Now they just call it stage 3. But still early in the stage 3 zone. 24 lymph nodes removed. Only 1 was cancerous, but it pushed me up to the next level. Chemo starts tomorrow.
Cheers
Phil
All the best with your chemo today @PhilPepper

Here's a photo of one of my dachshunds to cheer you up!
She was pretty unimpressed here after a big bath, definitely not a fan of water. She was the best dog though!

Hi @praetorian and welcome,
How are you doing today?
You make like to check out this thread: Your experience with side effects from head & neck cancer treatment (radiation / mucositis). It's become the go-to place to discuss head and neck cancers and I think you will find it very helpful

Hi @Georgie65 and welcome!
How are you doing today?
I've just sent you an email with some details of our Cancer Connect program, I think this would be a great option for you right now.
Sorry to hear you have not had much support, thankfully you have found us!! I also have scleroderma, though mine is localised, related conditions do cause problems
Have a look at my email and reply if you're interested, I can also have our Connect team chat to you about counselling
You are not alone now!
