Hi Cindyclaire, so sorry you lost your mum. My mum died a year ago and I still grieve for her and some days I still just cry. 8 months before she died I had to put her into care as I was no longer able to look after her which I had done since my dad died the year before. Then covid came, was not allowed to visit mum for 2 months, had to pack up her home and decide what to keep and what to give away. It was a terrible time and when she died the guilt I had for putting her into care and everything else was overwhelming. Someone suggested writing a letter to mum and putting my feelings on paper. I started writing her a letter and just said sorry for so many things. It really did help me and there were things I said in the letter that I didn’t know were on my mind. Hi Kiplin4387, yes you are completely normal feeling distressed, especially when you first get the cancer diagnosis. And it’s so hard to see your family upset. My husband cried with the news of my cancer and thats not normal for him. Anyway it can draw your family even closer as it did with us. You still need to get your proper diagnosis so try and wait till that happens and maybe something can be done for you. There’s so many treatments that may be possible for you. Hi Skig53, so glad you can share your feelings with us on this forum. Your diagnosis is not good, and yes, this journey really shows us a lot about ourselves. I know people said I was amazing but I mostly felt weak and emotional. It sounds like you have a good, loving family around you and that definitely helps. I can’t imagine not having family support. Hi maveson2, so sorry for your diagnosis! Such a shock for you. I hope you have lots of support from loved ones. All of us on this forum understand the anxiety that comes with a cancer diagnosis. I know once I started treatment I just accepted it and wasn’t so anxious anymore. My husbands support was amazing and I would have found it way more unbearable if he didn’t stand with me every step of the way. Hi Wegotthis, I had the heart scan before treatment and  it seemed good. 3 months after I had my last treatment in June I had a heart attack in mid August!! Had to have a stent put in! The cardiologist thinks because I have rheumatoid arthritis I was always at risk of heart problems. I think the chemo would have not helped. It’s taken me a while to get over the heart attack, I’m still working on my fitness   I was just starting to feel a bit better after chemo and then that happened.
