Hiya Ratty I am so sorry to hear of your son's diagnosis. You will get through this! At the moment you are going through one of the worst times with waiting for results. There are a number of organisations that you can get help from and the cancer council being one. Canteen might be helpful for your son to get involved with, although, he may not be ready to do that just yet. Hi purpleangels welcome to the site and blog land. 🙂 Having had to travel for treatment also i can empathise with you. It is a tough time and i hope you have a lot of help on board. I found it helped to have someone to pass on the news of the day / week and then of course those wonderful friends who drove me to treatments which was no mean feat as it meant a 400 km round trip for me and 3 days in between. So often they would drive me up and then come back 3 days later to pick me up. Hi Deejjay Thanks re the rotor cuff problem. I have considered physio but have been told it is unlikely to fix the problem. The problem is i live so far from anything and it all costs money and that is just not readily available at this time. Govt physio's arent available and then its petrol to cover the 50km round trip to attend an appointment. I am in a catch 22 vaccuum bag. haha I hate the situation i find myself in and at the moment there seems to be no way out. Time is meant to heal the fatigue and brain drain that i am experiencing and then hopefully i can get back to work and support myself once again. :) Anyhoooo onwards and upwards. Sounds great re the Myers Briggs and good that you found that helpful. I agree re law ... it does merge and human service type things do overlap. Re the job you applied for, it sounds like you put things in the lap of the gods and will take whatever direction it sends you in. Kind of a good way to be i think and have done similar myself. It is hard to be in limbo though and it kind of adds to the existing limbo we find ourselves in. I am trying to eliminate some of the limbo that i find myself in, not easy when you have to deal with a heap of people that dont understand my current situation. I guess primarily they deal with palliative care, although it is not just for cancer people or those requiring palliative care. Hey Sallyz Just read your post and i am very omg about what that woman has said to you. I don't know how any can equate working away to what you are going through. I know people desperately try to understand and get it wrong 'but' that one takes the cake! Sometimes I get asked where my accent is from and if i am in a resilient mood I often joke and say "russia today but tomorrow i might decide to be from holland" and at other times i just tell them it because of my tumour that i have an accent. Hi It is a dumb question as such and yet ............... I find myself on both ends of the spectrum with this one. I visit with a friend that is going through treatment and I always ask her how she is, because i genuinely want to know. 🙂 On the other end of the scale i have been in a very similar place to you and yes i think it is a dumb question. Probblem is what does one replace that one with? Willow What a kick in the butt for you and I didnt much like your manager before and now even less so! What an ass! How stupid can people be? seriously!!!! Sorry, but it makes me mad to read about situations such as yours. If he was in front of me right now I would be inclined to give him a quick education on what it is like to have cancer. I applaud you for not sitting back and taking what has been handed to you. You don't need the stress or grief at the moment and yet you are able to stand up for your rights.
