Paul
I got an instant reaction with tumour shrinkage. It's good news and you still have a way to go but that has to be encouraging for you. 2 more to go with the chemo?

Paul I was the same as you are initially but after a week or so I noticed that I was feeling better. I slept a lot due to the amount of morphine I was taking, plus other pain killers. Hang in there.

HI everyone
I just wanted to follow on from another thread without hijacking that one.
It might be beneficial if we could all comment on what we think or know palliative care provides??
I personally don't know much about it and have just been rereading a post by a member in a particular group and have seen that they are helping with therapy for the grandkids. So, it is obvious to me that they provide more than just end care treatment.
I know they can help out with home care also in providing hospital beds and aids that can help someone stay in their home for as long as possible and also know that it is not just for people who are at end stage.
It just might help someone one day to stumble on a post such as this.
Thanks in advance

Paul ... I was on a nasal gastric tube before my peg and the peg is way easier. Hang in there with it all!! Has anyone talked to you about oral care while you are having treatment? I used to use bicarb and salt water wash which seemed to help.

sorry to read you had a torrid time after getting your peg. It is a good thing to have one prior to treatment in case you do need it. Not everyone does!!
Have you considered any alternative therapies to compliment the medical treatment that you will be having? Things such as meditation can help with stress. I used to use it for my first cancer, but of course it is not everyone's cup of tea.

Hey Paul,
Hows it all going for you? I remember my peg, which I didn't end up using during treatment. Mine was used prior to treatment as my stage 4 tumour blocked my throat. Chemo is doable ... keep in touch with your cancer nurse and oncologist and if you get too nauseous they can give you something to help with that.

Hi Adina
I am from west aus although had a different cancer to you. What hospital are you being treated at? Most of the hospitals have information of local support groups. I think you can access that information through the social worker at the hospital, your cancer nurse and/or the cancer council.
