Thanks Cazziita I have been lucky my treatments don’t have any great effect on me, and if I need any pain relief Panadol is all I need. As I have cancer in my right ureter as well as my bladder, I do know that I have to go back for a ureteroscopy and cystoscopy as the stent in my ureter has to be changed or removed, and this is happening this week, my reason for not wanting this, is I will know what is going on, I am well and that is the hardest part with my bladder and ureter cancer

Twelve months since my bladder cancer diagnosis I have had 12 BCG treatments, 3 chemo treatments and 6 Cystoscopy,Ureteroscopy,turbts, biopsies and stent replacements/removals with a day or hours of feeling unwell after treatments, lower back pain that comes and goes and Panadol is always sufficient. I had pneumonia in early December and was so sick I wanted to die and thought I was going to. How can I have cancer when I am well. I was scheduled for a Ureteroscopy, biopsy and stent exchange this week, I have cancelled and want no more, twelve months of living with treatment and whatever so no more, now simply living with it, I maybe an absolute emotional wreck but this is going to be me

Hi Julia thanks for you kind wishes, I have three chemo treatments to go then two days later we go on our holiday ‘journey’ the treatments although not what the doctors wanted will get me through my holiday then when we get back 7th surgery in 12 months and hopefully the high risk had high reward and that Centrelink ‘journey’ has been mine this year as well, for different reasons, although I also could not work anymore I retired and then went through the ‘aged pension’ application that would leave me tears after every visit and phone call, I then emailed my federal member seeking help and application was approved in record time

Hard to know what to call this cancer thing! I must admit I don’t mind the ‘journey’ word, although not the one we want to be on, mine has been 11 months, l jjust had my second chemo yesterday with three more to go then I go on my real ‘journey’ a cruise holiday that was booked nearly two years ago never knowing this ‘C journey’ would enter my life, although not the path doctors wanted, in their words a high risk for hopefully high reward; which will get me through my holiday then my seventh surgery, so I will be going on my real journey with the cocktails and a pool in three weeks

Hi antt00 so sorry to hear your story , there is lots of good information which may be very helpful for you on cancer sites and people who would be a great support for you. so sad for your son, do you have any family at all that could help you I just came home from hospital today and not good news I know I’m not managing my situation well and should be seeking lots more information, but I think it simply overwhelms you There are some good contacts on this site and I hope some reach out to you Stay Safe and try to keep smiling

Hi seumus good to hear your going well , without doubt there is depression and anxiety involved and I know I get very anxious and no doubt depression is involved, however I am content with what I won’t go through, I’m happy to have a stent more long term and will go through the six week chemo, I’m neither positive nor negative I always like to sit in the middle as I’ve always found this the perfect seat to be in, as the disappointment with never overwhelm you good luck on your journey and always happy thoughts

Thanks Myke49 for reply, good to hear your going well, my doctor would prefer me to have surgery, however not an option I want, so only other option, chemo which I will do, major concern is right ureter will start to close, I only had stent out in September but if it means a stent again happy to go with it. good luck going forward

Hi Myke49 Hope all going well and you are well, I have bladder cancer and like you left ureter and five tumours although not muscle invasive I am high grade which I had a stent in to keep it open, unfortunately I have not come across any female bladder cancer patients on here, I have had 12 rounds of BCG immunotherapy treatments and five cystoscopy since December, my only options is major bladder removal surgery which I will not be considering and chemo which will have no side effects as directly into bladder, which is my is suitable will start soon, I am well my only effect is I tire each afternoon wishing you all the best with your recovery
