Hi. I haven't been online for about 2 years because I joined up when we were starting our journey and I found the website too depressing. I lost my husband 8 weeks ago and like you all, are desperate to find YOUNG people with or without children who are going through what I am. I have a 3 year old and a 2 month old. I gave birth to our daughter while my husband was in hospital due to a complication during surgery to remove the brain tumor and cared for him at home during his final days. I live in the Albury/Wodonga area and there is a greif group but were told that I would be the youngest one there with most people in the 50's and above. There must be more like me in the area. I too am visiting a counsellour which is helping and I have lots of family and friends for support but I don't want to burden them with quite frankly feelings that they can't even start to understand. I think I will be making more time to get online. Would love to chat to anyone that it in a similar situation. Even getting online tonight to see everyones stories has made a difference. Hi Nash, Love your strength and thank you for sharing your story. I am interested in what alternate methods you believe are working for you. My husband has just finished his first 6 weeks of chemo (temodal) and radiation with no side effects and we are just arguing about him returning to work full time due to him feeling so well. We are about to have 4 weeks off treatment and them go onto the 6 months of chemo for 5 days once a month. We both feel that the surgery is the only reason he is feeling as good as he is and like you think that the radiation and chemo won't be doing much. I feel like I need to be doing more and was wondering if you could give me any suggestions. Hi Helen, You are the reason I joined. My husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 GBM in January this year. He was flown to St Vincents in Melbourne for a debaulking (removed approx. 20%) and then we were lucky enough to get an appointment with Charlie Teo in Sydney who removed over 95%. We believe that he has given us our best chance. My husband is 34 years old and we have a 16 month old son. We are very early in our battle but are determined to beat the odds and are going for a long life. We are up to our 3rd week of chemo and radiation and my husband doesn't have any side affects yet. Hi, I just registered today and I have been reading all these GBM stories. My husband of 34 years old was diagnosed with GBM stage 4 3 months ago. We too have a 16 month old son. I don't know what you are going through as at the moment you wouldn't even know my husband has a brain tumor but I think about being in your situation everyday and trying to know how I would handle it.
