I am so sorry. It must be so hard for you. I can completely understand how having children would make you miss your mum on a daily basis. I found having photos around the house and talking with my children about my dad who passed away recently has helped the feeling of been overwhelmed. Hello Braveb I am just st 2 years past HER2+, bilateral mastectomy. I get little purple dots on my skin all the time since chemo and taking Femara. The dots appear especially if I have drank coffee or had a glass of wine, apparently a common side effect from your liver having to process meds’ and ‘toxins’. The meds I now take now cause gastric reflux which in turn causes infected sinuses etc (according to my ENT). Happy days 😁 ... View more

Hi Happy Dragon and the subject of dental problems came up at a recent Cancer Support group meeting, a few of the people who have had chemo said their teeth were cracking and decay setting in. Apparently they all suffered with daily vomiting which brings up the acid from your stomach and general immune problems cause the teeth to suffer, I too had a couple of problems there as well even though I am on BCG treatment. We all got referred to our local oral health clinic which costs nothing. Your cancer coordinator should be able to refer you for a check up. Hope this helps and good luck. Love & Best Wishes Paul ... Hey, it's not just a mother thing.   There are parents out there who neglect, even hurt their kids.  (I never understood this mindset, I can't relate, I'd walk through fire for my children).   But I think the norm, when you become a parent is to put the welfare of your children in front of yourself.  As a father confronted with cancer, the end-of-life aspect of it bothers me horribly, but it is not for myself.  It bothers me because of the impact my death would have on my three young children.   I cannot abide this, so I will fight to my last breath.  I won't submit on any level.  Every day I'm here, I'll love them and do my best to be a good dad, no matter how sick I am.  I'll be dragged from this world kicking and screaming.   I hope you can fight hard too, I wish you the best for your fight with cancer, and I hope your kids don't have to face the loss of another parent anytime soon.     ... Hi Shar Just writing to see how you are going? My son who is 32 was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma Stage 4 in October so your posts brought some tears to my eyes. Hi Jess, I was diagnosed with uterine cancer almost four months ago. I also have an amazing support and I was lucky enough to have a child six years ago but I do understand how you feel. As lucky as I am to have brothers and a partner who are there for me whenever I need them I still feel completely alone and struggle to get through a day without breaking down. I do know I am lucky enough to already have a child and for my cancer not to be too advanced but it is still hard to accept that I will never be able to give my partner a child apart from the one I already have.
