Another Survivor Shout-Out (from Oklahoma, USA)   The disase really stinks. But I am now 19 years and 3 months cancer free. I was stage 2+ tonsil cancer.  I won't lie. It hasn't been easy. But I'm still going strong, feeling good, just dealing with long-term effects of the radiation.  I just retired at age 64 and I'm enjoying my life with my best friend of 43 years, our 3 kids and 9 grandkids and still doing ministry (I was a pastor for 34 years). Hi, I’m very happy you are on the mend and over all the treatment. Your family and as you say your partner has been right with you the whole time, you sound in two minds aver your partner since finding these messages.  My advise would be to ASK him about them explaining you accidentally saw them or it on his phone.  This suspicion which is now on your mind will drive you crazy, you need to put it to rest, he sounds like a keeper & committed to you, ask him. ... Hi, when I finished my chemo my hair grew back curly and was salt& pepper, now it has gone back to being straight with a slight kink. It’s very dark in the middle and beautifully white around my face which I like now, I was just so happy to start seeing the old me returning. Thank you for kind words, I had a 3rd recurrence last year and a fourth round of surgery in December , recovery becomes slower each time naturally, back to work but not to playing hockey.  My intent of this piece was to clear my mind and acknowledge the support of not only family and friends but indeed virtual strangers while at the same time letting people know that it is sadly my journey (hopefully that makes sense).  The support of others is treasured but at times misguided and overbearing, at least that is how I sometimes feel, and I always try to stay positive, not just for them but for myself as well. sorry I am rambling I think.
