At 4.40am yesterday morning (22/2/13), my husband took his final breath. I was with him until the end, and I know that he is in peace now. I spent some time today with the funeral director and walking around the crematorium finding a beautiful final resting place. Trying to get the eulogy and funeral details sorted, but I'm not in a good head pace right now. If you have a loved one who is going through this hell, make sure you have the tough conversations with them about what they want in regards to their funeral. It has made my life so much easier knowing I am doing exactly what he wanted. I hate that I have to do this, but he would have been happy with the arrangements so far.

Tammy I'm thinking of you. I'm also thinking about your strength and commitment to your husband both in life and beyond. Love is an incredible thing. Remember in tough times like today how lucky you have been living your life with a man who's love will remain with you forever. Good luck with the funeral and don't forget to after yourself. Jo xx

So sorry to hear of your loss, Tammy. He will always be grateful to have had a caring, supportive wife like you, who was there all the way. The funeral will be tough, will be thinking of you - and i hope you start feeling better soon. Baby steps, take it slow. Take care, and we are here anytime you need to talk. Paula. x

So sorry to hear your news. But it's fantastic that you managed to talk about funeral plans and you know you can organise things as he would have wanted them. Obviously you will be mourning his death, but you wll also be celebrating his life! Gail

Tammy, there are no words that I can give that will make any of this better for you. I hope that knowing you are fulfilling your husbands wishes brings some comfort to you. May you find some small comfort in knowing that there will now be no more suffering for him. Please take care and I hope that the thoughts we are all sending your way are giving you some comfort. XX

Hi Tammy! Wow! You had those conversations......my husband and I never did. He died on the 15.2.13. Many asked me....."surely you'd spoken about it".... But we never did.......we were too busy talking about other stuff. I had to make really adult decisions (at 40, I am way too young for these decisions, and as a Libran who needs 26 opinions at the best of times.......) anyway, the funeral was beautiful.....I had him cremated before so I didn't have to explain the coffin to my kids (5 & 7). It's tough!! Just be kind to yourself!! PA
