In my last blog (25/3/12) I was optimistic because my wife’s blood results appeared good. I was wrong, oh so wrong. The cancer is progressing. My wife’s liver has blown up like a balloon, she is in serious pain, and as a result spaced out on painkillers. At the last consultation, her Oncologist talked about stopping the chemo when this current schedule finishes. We have now been put in touch with Palliative Care.

Today I recieved a phone call from my oncologist who thought it better that I have my chemo treatment through a pic? rather than the tablets that were suggested on Friday, not sure as to why but have to attend an education session at the hospital tomorrow. The unknown scares the living heck out of me and the change in direction doesn't do much for the heart either.Trying to stay strong and positive like so many people are on this site, learning to draw new strengths and be bigger than fear is one of the hardest things to do.Feel so much better just by putting this out there.Huge hugs and wishes X

I'm 29 years old and was diagnosed with Stage 2 ovarian cancer last year. I've had two operations since and my 6th (and final!) chemo will be this week. I'm very excited yet also a little nervous about having less specialist care and having to be more personally responsible and accountable for this next part of my journey. I understand it's normal. However, is there any thing I can do to make this transition less nerve racking?

i'm not coping that well, I'm trying to be strong for my kids, but i feel like everything is getting on top of me. I gave up my job to care for my wife, my mum has stayed with us for awhile also to help. My teenage step daughter has been doing it tough and told me today that i should be doing more for my wife so my mum doesnt need to help out. I tried explaining to her that i need help because I'm having alot of trouble dealing with the fact my wifes cancer is terminal and I'm facing the fact of raising the 3kids on my own.
