I'm 20 years old, and my grandfather was diagnosed with Glioblastoma 4 days ago. He's been given an expectancy of 6-10 months with surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. With no treatmeant, he would have had 6-8 weeks. It's been such a massive shock. He's never had any other medical problems, never been a smoker or a drinker, and has always been so healthy, fit, and strong.

I am keen to chat to anyone who cares for someone or has an oligodendroglioma. My husband has one in his right frontal lobe. He was diagnosed in January 2004 and also operated on at that time. They weren't able to remove all of it as they were concerned if they went to deep he would be paralysed down his left hand side. In 2007 a new tumour was found to be growing into the cavity of the old one. This tumour has been monitored by 6 monthly MRIs so we live from MRI to MRI. He is on anti seizure meds and also takes some very strong painkillers for the daily headaches he suffers from.

It was not the first time and it will not be the last I know. This morning walking the dog before I went to work I suddenly found tears running down my checks. I was thinking about my wife and what is happening to her and suddenly I was crying. This is not like me. I don’t cry. I quickly stopped of course and by the time I got back home I was my ‘normal’ self: strong, controlled, calm, in control.

Tomorrow is the day to put the picc in so that I can carry around a little bottle of magic potion,oncologist decided that rather than tablets for 6 weeks best I have the picc line.I have heard so many negatives about this option that it scares the heck out of me but I truly dont have an option as I have been assured that this is best for my cancer treatment.I feel very disappointed with my self for being so silly about this when others have to endure so much more,by writing this it just gets it off my chest and also puts things back into perspective.So thanks to this community I have once agai
