Hi All, Cancer Council NSW offer a free national telephone support group (TSG) for people who've been bereaved through an adult dying of cancer within the past two years. The Life After Loss group is led by two trained facilitators and runs for 6 sessions over a period of three months. Dates for the Life after Loss Group in 2014: - 10 March - 26 May - 30 June - 8 September - 15 September - 24 November. The next Life After Loss Group commences on Monday,March 10.

I was diagnosed with Carcinoid Syndrome in February 2012. My symptoms then were severe flushing and severe itching. I have had Liver ablation-partially succesful,Liver biopsy and am on Lanreotide 120 mg every three weeks. Greenslopes Hospital in Brisbane have been very helpful. I now await possible GA Dotatate treatment at the Royal Brisbane Hospital Nuclear medicine dept. Apart from flushing and itching I keep well. I am trying a sugar free and carbohydrate free diet at present hoping it may help.

Hi, I was recently diagnosed with Basal Cell Carcinoma on my scalp....I first noticed it 5 years ago but it was misdiagnosed so it is now quite large. I am afraid of surgery and am considering other treatment options like Radiation Therapy. I'm alone in this and would really like to hear from someone who has been through it? Hope to hear from you soon!

It has been one week since I farewell my dearest. 2 weeks since his passing. The funeral was wonderful, exactly how he would have wanted it. Great friends, family & awesome music. I managed to say my eulogy, which in itself was a massive achievement. At now 32, I can say I have done a lot of things many others have (travel, kids etc) but I stand proud to know that I have known true love- something many others never experience in their whole lives. I had it for 15 years, and I am a better person because of the whole journey.

Yesterday I had to view Ben's body for identification. He was so peaceful, and handsome it was refreshing, sad, but made me smile. Today is the funeral, I am attempting to say my own eulogy, not sure how I am going to go- but I at least have to try. It's still very sureal, but very peaceful. Others are more upset than I am, which sometimes makes it hard. I am a bit lost today- the kids are annoying me because the only way they know how to deal with this is by crying & having tantrums.
