Hi Cleomary you have to disclose all medical conditions for travel insurance, I have just traveled and could not get travel insurance to cover my cancer, you get insurance to cover everything else but of course if anything happens regardless the insurance company will always say it is cancer related, and if you do get insurance to cover cancer the premium is so expensive as it is an extra cost, you can try Medibank Private they do travel insurance

So very true, how do we cope with our cancer diagnosis, it is hard and twelve months on emotionally I am a wreck, I am well , have gone through all my treatments and six overnight hospital procedures with only needing Panadol for pain relief No matter how you feel that cancer word is always running wild in your head, it haunts us non stop and like you jigsaw puzzles are a great distraction and I would say my best distraction

Hi seumus good to hear your going well , without doubt there is depression and anxiety involved and I know I get very anxious and no doubt depression is involved, however I am content with what I won’t go through, I’m happy to have a stent more long term and will go through the six week chemo, I’m neither positive nor negative I always like to sit in the middle as I’ve always found this the perfect seat to be in, as the disappointment with never overwhelm you good luck on your journey and always happy thoughts

Thanks Myke49 for reply, good to hear your going well, my doctor would prefer me to have surgery, however not an option I want, so only other option, chemo which I will do, major concern is right ureter will start to close, I only had stent out in September but if it means a stent again happy to go with it. good luck going forward

Hi you have been on a health journey, and like you my cancer journey and treatments has been pain free although I still believe cancer sucks your faith has been on your journey and I know prayers from afar have helped me my good wishes with you on your journey

Hi David major surgery with bladder removal is my urologist preferred option now, however not a path I want to take. Chemo is only the first choice for muscle invasive bladder cancer, BCG immunotherapy is definitely right way to go for non invasive, it worked 99% for me and my team were so happy that it had worked so well for my ureter. I have no pain and are well and more than happy to do nothing, but will do the chemo, more for my husband questions!! I never know what to ask thanks for kind words and good wishes to mum

Hi thanks again for some great advice, my husband comes with me every visit, we feel we ask relevant questions, and usually hAve a list, my surgeon draws us pictures which is really good, I simply think I don’t want to know a lot, then I think I should know, I guess as I have only two options and as I am really well my main worry is when or will I get sick

Good luck Mike when your BCG immunotherapy starts, the catheter is for so a short time maybe a couple of minutes if that and I do realise it is painful for men, but for the next two hours all pain free , so you have absolutely got this

Hi diagnosed with bladder cancer December 2022, 5 surgeries and 12 BCG immunotherapy treatments later, I’m now at the what will I do next stage , my immunotherapy worked well, pain free no side affects and I feel well, would never know anything is wrong with me. Fortunately the treatments did their job, unfortunately only 99%, therefore only two options for me, major bladder removal surgery, or a new chemotherapy trial that only started last year, of course there is the do nothing decision which I favour. At this stage bladder removal is not something I am considering but as a decision is required this week , I believe I will go with what my husband wants and that is chemo trial, although chemo not something I ever wanted, apparently I’ve been told there are no side effects with this one but , as we all know we are all different. Are there any other female bladder cancer ‘patients’ out there
