Unfortunately hindsight is a wonderful thing,it would be hard to accept wearing those incontinence underwear, especially with the difficulties and discomfort you are experiencing. Possibly your son has taken your words very personal and out of context but at this moment in time, reach out and explain the love and feelings you have for them all, don’t let it go on like it is,and have a wedge driven between you both ,at this very difficult time in you want your family beside you. When making decisions about quality of life versus quantity ,we have to respect the patients decision they have the final say. Have you had a chat to your GP about your health and feelings,I had a few chats to mine during my treatment ,I got some good advice to help me cope. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you,I just took it one day at a time.

Peace I am so glad the morphine is helping your Dad,very true it is a hard decision to face chemo and radiation after it has metastasised and returned,He is a very strong person knowing the side effects ,by choosing to have those treatments again ,hoping to gain more time with his loved ones ,it is a personal choice as you well know.Words can’t help you but try and stay strong ,and think about having a chat with your GP at this very trying time in your life if needed.

Dorothy1 The side effects from chemo treatment vary from person to person I had fatigue nausea and loss of appetite ,while a friend of mine had very minimal side effects from the same chemo,It can be a daunting prospect facing chemo therapy it is normal to have the feelings you have about chemo ,try to have an open mind when you receive it ,hopefully you may not suffer many side effects ,only time will tell,I was told to drink plenty of water to help flush the body after chemo. Best wishes with your treatment.
