Hi Richard You are amazing. Thanks for your encouraging response. I admire the way you keep going. I find when I am out doing something with other people, it’s easier to manage the symptoms. However as I am sure you find, nasty fatigue kicks in after a few hours, usually 3.30pm onwards. Unlike you it’s just my lovely supportive husband and I which means I am able to give in and sleep for a little while. I’ll will keep on praying for that red button to turn up for you.

Hi Linda. Thank you for your kind words. Congrats on being cancer free, I hope to get to that stage and move on. Regardless of what happens next, I feel changed, I don’t think I will be same person again. It gives me hope to hear your free of that burden. You will be my inspiration to get through another day. ❤️

I’m so sorry. It sounds like you’re doing a great job of putting your head down and focussing on your end date for treatment. My mother has cancer in her family so it wasn’t such a huge shock for me, although very unwelcome I’ve always thought I’ve inherited more of my motherr’s genes than my father’s. Darned it. I’m so glad you’ve been able to work through treatment. I was able to do so too with careful management of side effects. I think that really helped me. I hope it’s helping you too. It gave a good reason to get up and push through. I loved my job (sounds very different from yours though!!!) and it helped give me purpose. Wishing you the best and prayers up for successful treatment 🙏🌺

Hi. I’m on that journey as well. Ups and downs are the new norm, it’s hard to adapt. I find comfort and strength sharing my story and reading others.

Hi @Richard1 ,
Thank you for sharing your experience with diagnosis. It is such a shock and trauma to receive a cancer diagnosis. It can be helpful to talk about it, and share your experience with others.
Please know that you can call our information and support line and speak to a health professional at Cancer Council on 13 11 20.
Here is also a helpful fact sheet on emotions and cancer.
Perhaps others would like to share their experience with diagnosis?
Warmly,
Felicity
