Hi Rico 2018 I started chemo in late 2011for S3 Oesophageal cancer slow progression back to near normal taste in early 2019 In late 2019 & 2020 it mastersized S4 terminal, so now I eat what I like and for enjoyment but somethings still taste like cardboard. Hi Such an amazingly cherished and contented day was celebrated yesterday with loving family and friends as I had a “ Living Funeral”. ‘ So why a living funeral, well it’s more about a celebration of life, it’s a way of me giving back, it’s a way of thanking all those beautiful people who have impacted and contributed to our relationship throughout the years, the recognition that they truly deserve as i can’t do that when I am dead. It’s not for everyone I can accept that, but what is important to me is knowing that I made the opportunity and the connection and I can now rest knowing that I had said what my heart wanted to convey, to those who are near & dear to me. There was reflection, memories, joy, peace and some sadness, but above all LOVE. LoL 💙 💙 Peter 💙 💙

Hi Rog I find it hard to believe your oncologist is not addressing your pain issues, I found my Palative Cair Nurse very helpful in this regards as managing pain is such a big aspect of quality of life. Hi KEE1k1 Your post resonated many mixed feelings in me as I am looking at my / our journey from the other side as I plan with my family for a living funeral in the near future. The significant importance of you not being there at your husbands passing happened to a friend recently and I’m sure he new his time had come and his adoring wife also missed the opportunity to be with him at the last moment. She felt as though she had been cheated of that special last moment together it can’t be changed now but I feel her loss for sure. Hi Patches Thank You for sharing your journey that’s very special and personal, it’s so hard accepting loss, and all that goes with the grief process it takes time, courage, strength and so many other words, but support is so very important are there support groups in your area, hobby groups that could provide a time out for U time.
