Another great post.  We put off telling our adults kids  until test results started coming back suggesting that I have a good chance of having cancer.  We have 3 teenager granddaughters we arent telling until we know for sure and what treatment will be if I do.  I personally see no benefit in saying I may have cancer to young children.  I'm learning how little I did  know about cancer until I found a few lumps under my armpit . Really sorry to hear about you having cancer.  I keep my hair so short no would notice if I shaved it all off. We are waiting on a biopsy report to see if I do have cancer. My wife said she would shave her head if I do have to have treatments that caused me to lose mine.  I understand your concern about losing your hair. If you getting a wig makes you feel better then you should. I'm learning that cancer effects more than our bodies.  Take care of yourself emotionally and physically. Great post and perfect timing.  I'm going to some friends house for coffee soon. My buddy wife starts her first treatment this afternoon.  At church yesterday I asked what was her eating plan going to be.  Looks like her doctor didn't really go through the side effects of radiation with her.  I don't know if I do have cancer. I'm getting as much information i can just incase my biopsy results shows I do. JD So sorry to hear about your health.  Glad to hear you have found something that helps take your mind off of it for awhile.  I understand you aren't even 60 years old.  I like to think that 60 is still pretty young considering I'm 55 🙂 I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to stay with our oldest granddaughter for a week while she was in the hospital. We knew for a fact she was walking out of there completely healthy. She was only 5 at the time and asked me not to leave. So I stayed.  My life changed because of her roommate in the hospital.  I over hear the young girl tell her mom all she wanted for her 13 birthday was to be allowed to go home and die in her own bed.  Since then I have never felt like I have a problem. When things aren't going my way I remember that girl and her family.  The last 9 months my health has its ups and downs. Already had skin cancer removed from my nose. Now I'm waiting on a biopsy report to see if or what cancer i have.  I believe we caught it at a early stage.  All I can think of is that girl. I would love to trade places with someone who is younger.  If you only have one month or 40 years don't forget the people who hasn't seen their 21 birthdays  You and me are very lucky to be here.  I hope you are doing well and enjoying today. Phil  I know this is a older post. I just want to say thank you for taken the time to reply to my first post a couple a week ago.  I love the term Man disease!!!! I have said for years the number 1 killer of men is pride... I have suffered from it pretty much since I was a kid . Specifically when it comes to showing emotion.  My family has always expected me to be the one to keep with the younger kids even when I was just a kid myself.  I had to take care of my younger brother after our parents abandoned us. I didn't have time to be mad. I started working after school and ended up leaving HS to work full-time.  Man disease sucks... I should know in a few days if I do have cancer.. Im here trying to learn as much as I can about different cancer and treatment  I guess talking about it here is my way of avoiding talking about it with those around me.  My weaknesses is seeing people crying. I tired to hide this from my wife but she walked in on me when I was talking to my doctor. Once reports started looking like it was cancer we decided it was best to tell our adult children and our church so we could get people praying for us.  We are empty nesters but who needs children when you have dogs:) ... Thanks for updating your post.  I'm almost twice your age and waiting to hear back about my biopsy.  I'm pretty sure if I have cancer I have the same one as you.  I'm on the fence about having treatment if I do.  I know we all react differently to treatment but how did it go for you.  I have already had skin cancer removed 10 months ago.
