Hi, I'm the new girl and excited to be here. I finished my chemo and radiation treatment for small cell carinoma of the cervix 3 weeks ago and waiting to have my follow up scans. Nervously... I eventually made the decision to have the second surgery - level 2-5 neck dissection to remove 30 lymph nodes. Even though none of the nodes came up positive, I'm still glad I had the surgery as a preventative measure. I realise that its going to be a long recovery. I won't sugar coat my situation. I am in extreme and constant pain 2 weeks after surgery and still not able to work. the offers of help have kind of died down apart from family involvement and there are days when the pain gets so bad, and i'm on max pain medication that i just put myself to bed and cry myself to sleep.

It had been 3 months and I decided enough was enough, it was time to let the healing of my feet return. So it had been 8 days of daily walking and I'm feeling a whole world better.

Today at counselling I mentioned some nerves about my upcoming holiday. The counsellor said she would pray for me and my sister to be safe while away and therefore God would make it be ok. I am an atheist so I gave her a doubtful look and she was like, yes, truly, God will look after you. She said she knew I didn't believe and so she wasn't going to get into it with me. Partly because of that but mainly because it was almost the end of session I bit back my strong desire to ask in that case why God had given me and my sister cancer.
