well the results came back today and to be polite all i can say is oh shit. to sum it up metastatic adenocarinoma of the pancreas which has spread to the liver. prognosis 6 - 12 months it all seemed rather surreal having someone tell you that you probably wont see christmas of 2012 and that there really is not much of a treatment available for you. at best, i was told, they could do something to help prolong what is ultimately inevitable.

I have actually thought about not going back to the oncologist but then decided I need to know one way or the other. Not looking forward to this appointment. Too many questions needs answers and some answers I dont know if I want to hear. Have to admit, I am actually a bit scared about what I am about to get told.

Hi there all, just an update to let you all know I am doing ok 🙂 Getting chemo now, doing the carboplatin and gemcitabyne. Sitting at the hospital is the most boring part. I take my laptop and me and my fiance watch a movie together on it with dual headphones 🙂 I also make a picnic lunch so we dont have to eat that dreadful hospital food although last week they did have chocolate cake. Last week we got turned away from chemo cos my platelet count was too low, so rest for a week and then come back.

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the internal scarring which can occur after radiation? Specifically, how long after radiation finishes can it occur and what does it feel like? My area of radiation was the top of my leg. Thanks, Kim

well, it's been one heck of a roller coaster ride and one that I don't ever want to have again. Since seeing the oncologist a fortnight ago and getting more referrals for even more tests, I have been down,happy, clear, confused and everything else thrown in for good measure. When I saw the oncologist, I was told that I definitely had cancer as the lump was an enlarged lymph node, in the region of the left supraclavicular node, and that it was, in her opinion, stomach cancer. I hit rock bottom.
