Its been 15yrs 30/07/1996 at 8.10am since my Dad, Dennis passed from kidney failure and leukaemia. Im sitting here watching Masterchef who taught me, STRESSED is DESSERTS in reverse. Dad kept the upper stiff lip and never let anyone close and went to all appts alone. This was to protect his family and because he was not coping. Me, well I have discovered Im very much like my Dad, however Im trying to embrace change everyday and choosing the opposite of what I want. My best advice I have learnt in the last 3 mths, if it scares the hell out of you, you must conquered it.

I recently put up my first posting on this site about having two sisters (who have sinced passed away) and a husband diagnosed with cancer. Apologies if it was long winded but I am never sure what I should write on these sites, so of course I write from my heart. I recently found a lump and change in my breast, which I guess at the moment I am trying my utmost to ignore the best I can! The fear is, what if..... I have finally had my last chemo which was a high dose chemo and had a stem cell transplant. I was told to expect to develop a fever which would last two days, ended up with fevers for six days. The cause ended up being my picc line which I had in place for four months. They couldnt take it out earlier as my platelets had dropped to 4 and it wasnt safe to remove it at that time. After four weeks in hospital I am home and apart from feeling tired things are pretty good. Will be starting radiotherapy soon.

4 years agoMy hubby developed bowel cancer, He had an operation and was given a bag for awhile whilst he had chemo. Through his chemo he was sometimes a saint others a devil. After the reversal and through another round of treatment he was told. ALL CLEAR my heart, started to sing and I felt 15 ft Tall. then within 6/7 weeks I noted somthing that was not right on his side. A small lump. After the scans we where told that there was a wandering rouge cell that had developed in his upper left lobe in his lung. No problem will be dealt with!.
