So- I get a call from my darling husband's onco man in Sydney today...mmmm....this can't be good..... And it ain't....there is now disease IN his liver and his bowel is covered in tumour. Before it was only on the lining of the blood vessels on the lining of his liver.....Bummer! And there can be radiation bead put in his liver to shrink the tumour, but it is not a cure nor control...... MMmmmmmm..... What does this mean? I ask....that he will get tireder and tireder as his liver struggles to function....is the answer.

I'm a Kidney Cancer survivor, I have 2 girlfriends who are Breast Cancer survivors, I lost a friend to non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma 4 yrs ago, another friend to Bowel Cancer 3 months ago, another close friend has both Prostate and Pancreatic Cancer (has been given about 18mths) and now my sister has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma (luckily stage 1)... what's going on??

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer it worried my sister so she had a mammogram and was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 months after me. I feel sympathy for her about what she will have to go through but more than that I feel resentful that she has taken some of my specialness away. That is a terrible thing to say and I feel very bad about it.

We met with oncologist today following the MRI yesterday. It would appear that there is still an area of concern, but that remains unchanged since previous MRI in March - if anything swelling has reduced slightly which is a little contradicting given my husbands increased weakness on left side. Oncologist is of the opinion that there is more than likely tumour still present there and that may be accounting for the increased weakness.  His recommendations short term are as follows :- -Commence Temodal (5 day dose) -Increase dexa -Commence bactrum

What have people heard about this? It seems like a miracle.....but I would be interested to hear if others have used it, recommend it, or otherwise........My husband's cancer is so rare, no one has answers, so I am looking every which way I can.... PA

A few weeks ago my counsellor asked if I was most worried about the time before, during or after my surgery. I said I would be ok during the surgery since I would be asleep & that what was most worrying me was beforehand when I had to sit in the waiting room. I was quite terrified of the waiting part because it really didn't seem possible that I would be able to sit in the waiting room without turning into a gibbering wreck.
